Sister Charlotte Kane discovered that at her very core she was an educator, the kind that not only molds students' minds, but leaves an indelible impression on their hearts.

Kane died Tuesday, May 27, at Beverly Hospital. She was 79.

Born Sept. 8, 1928, Kane spent the first years of her life in a home that is now the convent at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in downtown Beverly. When she was about 4, the family moved a short walk away to Mechanic Street, to the house where Kane would spend the last years of her life...."
