i am searching for a children's book i used to own, that was essentially a small collection of scary stories for kids. i remember it being the kind of book, where the light-hearted, truthfully un-scary stories were amplified into ballads of shear terror by the artwork. the main feature of the book, was a telling of the classic "In a dark, dark wood, there was a dark, dark house, and in the dark, dark house, there was a dark, dark room, etc." leading into the reveal of the final dark, dark item containing a ghost that popped out for scare factor. following it though, we two other stories i can remember. one was of a young boy who kept meeting strange men on the street (O_o) each one with progressively larger teeth, and the other was a classic tale of the girl who always wore a ribbon on her neck, and when her love removes it, her head falls off. i also seem to recall a story of a man meeting a girl, who gives him her scarf, and then he, trying to return, finds she died a while ago. i think the title contained a line like in a dark, dark woods or house, i just can't remember. can anyone please help me out?

I just noticed there's a link on the second site I posted that takes you to a 'forum' that discusses the book and gives you a link to amazon.com where they still have the book for sale.
