I have watched tv shows and read a bit here and there on proposed mars missions.
Does anyone have more information as to what proposals have been made for such a mission and how much it could cost.

I have heard that they might send the living qaurters first and the people thereafter but it will be a great undertaking and maybe the many countries will contribute to make it happen.

It will be a great challenge in terms of propulsion, safety and the length of the mission.

Nasa 1997 proposal

It has always frustrated me that there was not a earlier mars mission. I wonder it much has changed since this proposal and if other space agencies have some serious proposals of their own.
