"Recently, during a conversation about kids and dogs, a friend shared that soon after her daughter Audrey was born, her springer spaniel, Winston, began exhibiting signs of aggression — including growling to "protect" his food bowl and toys. This was worrisome for obvious reasons, and my friend started researching possible solutions to ensure the peaceful coexistence of her child and dog.
Her vet recommended "puppy Prozac" (specifically the antidepressant clomipramine), which is commonly used to curb aggression and lessen obsessive compulsive behaviors, such as constant licking in dogs and cats, and feather picking in birds."
