"Young bride hypnotised for own wedding to try and get over morbid fear of ceremony.

Bride-to-be Emma Pelling is so afraid of vomiting all over her wedding dress, she's enrolled with a hypnotherapist in a desperate bid to find the courage to walk down the aisle.

The 19-year-old suffers from 'emetophobia', an irrational fear of throwing up at inopportune moments.

Miss Pelling is terrified of falling ill on her big day and refuses to book her wedding until she's found a cure.

The trainee vet has suffered from the rare condition for five years, never having recovered from the shock and embarrassment of being sick in front of her classmates.

She said, 'I have this recurring nightmare of being ill as a bride, running out of the church and abandoning my husband at the altar.'

Miss Pelling, who lives in Croydon, South London, will visit a therapist on Saturday to try and conquer her affliction so she can wed fiance Gareth Heal.

She added, 'It's illogical and terribly hard for anyone who doesn't suffer from this phobia to understand what happens to me.

'Most brides would be getting excited and planning everything from their dress to the flowers - but I simply can't bear thinking about it.'

Pretty kitty!

On the other hand, I feel for her. I cry whenever I start gagging and I know I'm gonna throw up.

If the whole thing is too much, why don't they just sign the papers at the local judge (or whoever does that kind of thing in the UK) and take the pressure off?

Exactly. Because some people also get sick at the sight or smell of someone else throwing up. It could end up a total disaster.
