"Some people might think a wild duck is "quackers" for making a small boat her unlikely nesting spot.
But the mother-to-be seems quite happy aboard Petric 2, even when its owner Peter Twiddy is out fishing in rough seas off Aberystwyth.
Nicknamed Gertrude, Mr Twiddy said it was the second time in three years she had built a nest in a secluded storage area at the stern.
Gertrude found her sea legs again when she returned two weeks ago.
He said: "We can be making 20 knots in quite rough seas and Gertrude just sits there and seems perfectly happy - she doesn't get in a flap.
"She comes out occasionally to get some fresh air, but then returns to the nest."
