Enigma wrapped in a puzzle

Don't read any further is you have not seen the movie yet.
Anyone else really suprised by the movies ending? Area 51, Aliens, new dimensions ect. Its all kinda strange to have such a main stream film have this content. I really think that we are moving towards disclosure for UFO's and aliens. I mean most people really don't want to see Indiana Jones deal with aliens do they? I for one love the alien idea and mystery behind it, but I did not like the direction they took this movie. Anyone else?

It's not that strange.
Is it stranger than a man putting his hand into a person chest and taking out their beating heart. Without ripping their clothes/skin?
Stranger than surviving the Ark's destruction. By closing your eyes?
Stranger than a cup sizzling bullet's and bullet wounds away?

I didn't care much for the newest Indy flick either. It was better than the Temple of Doom, but I was just hoping that after 19 years they'd come up with a better story than that.

Saw it today with my boys...
Relied too much on CGI, flat storyline killed it IMO, ripped off a little maybe (thought i was watching
National Treasure for awhile) Apart from say the last 20 mins err even that had an
Alien V Predator kinda ring about it lol!...bottom line, ordinary stuff.
Just my p/s take.

I would have preferred it if they had stuck to the old theme of ancient mysteries on earth instead of dragging UFO's and aliens into this.

I suggest you see it twice. I did, and it was alot better the second time around than the first. Just my take.

It was not that bad and I liked how they took the legend and brought it forward into a more modern one :] It was a nice deviant from the norm at the very least!

Seen it last night. I thought it was pretty good. Nonstop action throughout the whole movie. Could have use a few more funny one-liners, but it was good. The alien theme didn't bother me too much but I would have preferred to stick with ancient human mysteries.
I'd give it 7 out of 10 stars.

Have no fear, the other three movies are significantly better... with the possible exception of "Temple of Doom" which suffers from the movie quivalent of "middle child syndrome" (horrible film - not recommended, unless you're a die-hard Indy fan). Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade were fantastic watershed eventsin cinematic history (particularly Raiders of the Lost Ark). They didn't rely too much on special effects and really focused on the story-line of Indy vs the bad guys.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was not a bad movie. It was a fun action flick, but provided nothing else (at least nothing of relevance). Certainly it was not in the same vein as the other Indiana Jones' flicks.
Though of course that is just my opinion after seeing the recent movie.

Why do people always trash Temple of Doom? It's far from being even a remotely bad movie. It definately had the biggest sense of danger and peril out of all the Indy movies. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it at all. I don't understand why people always hate on it.

Little to no character development, especially with dear 'ole mumsy....who's character role was pitiful, imo.
The movie was just ok, cool surprise at the end, but not a DVD I'll add to my library later on.
