I have the new Canon FS100. It records great video. It has great zoom. It has great features. It records as .MOD files. Anyone ever dealt with these?
Very cool little camcorder. Being flash drive (SD card), it uses very little power so the battery lasts forever. It even tells you down to the minute how long you have left on the battery. Also exactly how hany minutes of recording time left on the current card.
I've read where you can just change the extension to .mpg. Some people claimed that the video lost quality when this was done. I didn't notice any, but only did it with 1 short video. I figured I might be able to find a conversion tool but thought I'd try to gain from others experiences before making my own.
Thanks for any help offered.

Guess I forgot to identify my question. Has anyone any experience dealing with .mod files? I don't. How is the best way to convert them and what format should they be converted to?

Just try renaming to whateverfilename.mpg, most of them will work. MOD is mpg2 format.
