I was wonding how many of you believe that it's possible to combine two seprate religions like Christiany & Wicca. I'm just using these two as an example because their are people who combine these two very different religions as one.

What say you?
MissMelsWell
Oh I don't know... in my view, it's not that hard to do...

I suppose in some way, I combine Christianity, Theraveda Buddhism, and Jainism ... into a central belief. Although, I consider myself Christian.

Of jeeze, I incorporate parts of Christianity, Buddhism, "Pagan" religions (Earth-worshipping/centred) and some Vodoun/Voodoo into my every day life. I just define it as my "spirituality".

Clearly I do not follow any of these religions "to the T". Certainly not Christianity. But I find all the religions alluring and special and beautiful in their own ways. I follow the laws of each of these religions that agree w/ my morals, which is based in acceptance and love. I make my beliefs work for me.

Oddly enough, I think that's already been done on a huge scale. Isn't that where we got Christmas trees from? Or did Jesus say "Yo, light up that tree bro! It's my birthday!" laugh.gif

Sorry, I had to ask...

Oh, yeah, Santa-Ria does that too, right? And Voodooism I believe (I'm unsure of the correct term for what we Americcentrics call "Voodoo").
Agent Krycek
Yes, Voodoo is very much a religion based on the combination of Christianity and Vodun.

What about two very seprate religions like Satanism & Christianty? I myself have a problem with mixing Christiany with any other religion because of the whole no other Gods before me. But I know some one here no not see that commandment like that.

I agree with Spooky....
It is my spirituality that guides me to my beleifs....

I follow my gut to what I know and feel...My intuition guides me well.
First off God/Jesus comes before anything...And the Lords teachings are what I feel foremost...
I dont follow the whole of Christianity, although I consider myself Christian because of my commitment to Jesus....it is what i feel is the closest to "right for me'.....based on my morals and His teachings too...

I beleive in the spiritual aspect of life as well, and that there is more to what is, then most common are aware...

I beleive from personal experience, that some are given spiritual gifts from the Lord and therefore this is where it strays from Christianity..... A true pure 100% Christian from what Ive been told, thinks that this is evil being done....however some strick Pentecoste agree with me because she has the gift as well.... so she is kinda like me... A Christian Mutt, as I refer to myself....

I dont, because it comes from the Lord..... Some debate this, but from what I have seen, there are both sides in the Bible regarding spirituality....

Some of what I feel is also considered Pagan from what Norwood has told me. I beleive in reincarnation of our spirits....

But i beleive it is good...All good comes from the Lord. It is what is in my heart and there from personal experience and my gut intuition...It has never failed me and guides me thru my life in a manner consistant to spredding the Love and helping others.....

This is what its all about..... Spredding the Love. No matter what religion you want to go by or be called.

It's easier to see Christianity's God as a perfectly loving, respectable entity if you ignore his whole No-Other-Gods ego trip original.gif

I have a good friend who is a Christian but believes that there are other Gods, Yet the Christian God want's us all to himself.
Agent Krycek
See? Ego trip. *snip*. Dundundun.

Wisdom!
Belle.
I suppose all our beliefs bleed into each other a little, things derive from other cultures, historically ideas are transferred. And personally we do it as well. So I think it may not be as peculiar as it first sounds.

I have trouble getting behind that. Christianty seems to very different ideas about the afterlife VS other religions.

The Japanese do this rather well with Shinto and Buddhism.

A splendid Idea ,then you would have double the rules .double the predjudices against other religions ,you would have doubled your chances on the salvation front .

I think that one faith a time produces enough strife in the world without combining two

If you follow Christ's teachings then you won't be Wicca. Having been a Wiccan through lineage I understand their differences better than most. It can't happen. If you merge them you are taking away from one and giving to another. It doesn't work for either.

Sorry, but the truth is the truth. No amount of complaining will change it. Though once I yelled my computer to work and it started up again...I hope you know I'm kidding.

Aren't there old testament references to other "gods"? I was under the impression that the "one god" thing was more like "I am the one true god, the god with a capitol G", not necessarily that "I am the singular only one of my kind there is".

As far as Satanism and Christianity...how would you mix opposites? Besides, it's not much of a stretch, as one validates the other in this case.
