This question is for all those who are rational enough to atleast consider the possibility of armageddon, genocide, anarchy, the invasion of your country by foreign powers, the invasion of the world by hostile Extra Terrestirals, or any other events which would undertow your life. This question is not for skeptics who are itching to prove any said theroies wrong. That being said:

Would you run? Where? Party size?

Rations? What?

Weapons? Bombshelters?

Embrace religion? Embrace suicide?

Add questions.

Honesty is key here. Liars can't help.

I understand each scenario brings different options. So if you could just choose one (it could even be your own scenario) and briefly summarize it, it will suffice.

At first I would look to arm myself with weapons(this covers all the scenarios you mentioned BTW) Probably, because of where i live, it would be hunting rifles/handguns. I would gather my family and arm them as best i could, then head to a remote area somewhere. My Father (though old) and myself can hunt, so living off the land would probably be the way to go. I would try to make contact somehow, possibly scouting trips back to civilization, to find out what exactly is going on. If any formal resistance is being formed, I would join, but tell my family to keep hiding and stay on the move. Being ex-military, I could do more good with a band of resistance fighters than going solo (so to speak) in the woods. Thats just a basic draft of a plan, and VERY subject to change depending on conditions and environment. thumbsup.gif

Yes, everyone and their dog has the plan to live off the land. I wish you well, in the event, but can state it's not good planning. The competition will be fierce, it exposes you to enormous danger, and any game will be very elusive. Livestock might tide one over, but you're still sallying forth from your base, exposing yourself to great dangers.

If one is serious, stored food and water would gain one great advantages than the living-off-the-land scenario. Just sayin'...........

I would certainly take food and supplies with me (that's pretty much a given) and I would resupply at every opportunity. But I wouldn't rely on what civilization can provide. Cities and towns would be primary targets, and if you have a base, you've only backed yourself into a corner, and painted a big target on yourself at the same time. Any dangers in the wilderness would likely be less than an occupying force knocking at your door grin2.gif And my plan calls for survival of my family first, I would return to fight, but I would do my best to see that they were as safe as possible, and out of harms way.

Like with natural disasters, when humans are up against the wall or sees the same in their neighbour. Together, they invariably want to work together to fix the problem.

So anything is possible, together.

I read some bible talk one day by mistake..Lol. But it said the only real path away from the genocide of humanity is togetherness, and when our backs are up against the wall, we are forced to trust 9intuitively perhaps) one another to support one another.

But so did the Jews during their genocide. More like huddled together. The more we use the internet to talk realisticly together about solutions ( for example, this topic ), the more we share and know solutions. The WWII Jews never had the world wide web. Is this a good thing? To talk about solutions more often?

Hurricane Katrina brought another facet to the survival aspect that I personally did not expect. That is to say, the forcible disarmament of citizens by Government agents(police, etc) during the disaster itself. People were getting robbed, raped, killed etc and all the while with the Police disarming the victims at the same time.

If they weren't getting it from one end they were also getting it from the other end too.

This event showed the true nature of government during "disaster relief". Now the only question remaining in this regard for me is whether it was a localized event based on the political motivations of the officials present, or if it was more representative of a furthered agenda at federal levels.

Any other thoughts on this?
