This really isn't a paranormal issue but a curiosity thing. Between Crab Orchard, TN and Crossville, TN on highway 70 there is a stone house that has a pond out front and appears to be abandoned. There is a trailer near it. If you're going toward Crossville it's on the left. Does anyone know which house I'm talking about? If so, do you know anything about it's history?

If you were talking about Crab Orchard, Kentucky, I'd be able to help you...my brother-in-law grew up there tongue.gif What's your interest in this property?

When we lived in Murfreesboro we would drive by it pretty much every time we came up or went back after visiting my husband's family in Knoxville. We were always struck by how pretty the house and property are and wondered what the story was behind the property--when the house was built, does it have any historical significance, are there any urban legends attached to it, etc. Along with cemeteries and paranormal stuff I also have a thing for abandoned and old houses. tongue.gif

best bet would be a deed search on the house then...sometimes if you're lucky, you can do it online if you have a street address original.gif

You're best bet is to contact the town or county historical society. If you inquire, they'll likely tell you whatever you'd like to know! original.gif It's worked every time I've tried it!

Thanks for the tip! I sent an e-mail to the town and also posted on a message board I ran across that is devoted to Cumberland county. I'll be interesting to see what I find out!
