It was night when it had happened…
Cold and wet as harsh rain poured down;
Unforgiving, unforgiving

Screeching tires…they tried to brake.
I ran out to the street, I didn’t care…
So cold, so cold

No time to cry…call 9-1-1
The rain stopped as sirens came…
Too late, too late

Let it all alone they said to me,
I gave up on sorrow…
Leave it be, leave it be.

Comments...questions etc.

Short piece of journalistic poetry. Can you tell us more about the accident? Was it real? Links to the actual accident? I do not mean to pry and understand if you do not want to reveal such. Overall though it is true that when the rain stops it does not mean everything is suddenly cheery.
