Does anyone else sneeze whenever they first go out into the sun after more than an hour indoors, or is it just me?

Yes! My husband thought I was crazy when I told him that everytime I go outside and in the bright sun that I sneeze. Its really weird because everyone said that I had allergies and I've had the scratch test done and I'm not allergic to the outside allergens. Since there is a one way street coming out of my apartment I'm always driving into the sun (not literally of course!) and I sneeze like crazy!
Slave2Fate
haha, yes actually, it happens to me too, although not often. I never understood why.

When I'm about to sneeze, looking at the sun or a bright light always helps it out. Looking up helps too if there's no light, but not as well.

It's called the photic sneeze reflex, and you got it from one of your parents.

I have it, though I rarely actually sneeze; I feel like I'm going to and then it goes away again, which is arguably worse.

My husband does everytime and he passed it down to our two sons. I call them my little sunsneasers. . . even as a little baby youngest son did it!

Well it's good to know I'm not a vampire. I remember the first time it started happening was years ago, about halfway through 8th grade on the way to lunch. Every since that first sneeze, 7 times out of 10 I sneeze whenever I go outside....sometimes after I get out of my car from driving.

Strange that it's a dominant hereditary trait though....neither of my parents seem to have it. I smell a secret adoption/affair!

Very awesome! Thank you for that link, I've always wondered why that happens.

Thats about the same here, but I don't remember when it started much... I have a hard time remembering things in the past, but I don't have sort term memory or anything like that... But one thing that sucks with me and light, I tend to go blindish in the light. My vision ends up really white and I can't see much.

It's this big bright thing that hovers high in the sky sometimes and makes everything all bright and glarey.

Or at least that's what I remember from my youth.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night. Take these broken wings and learn to fly. All your life. You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night. Take these sunken eyes and learn to see. All your life. You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly. Into the light of a dark black night. Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly. Into the light of a dark black night.

A gay, though nugatory, ingression into this thread. Well done.
