What did everyone think of this episode?

Personally, I liked it alright even though it wasn't really about monsters. But I found some of the footage interesting and I like how they have voice recognition guy taking a listen to the audio, etc.

Anyway, what did you think? What did you like? What did you not like?

The supposed evidence was very flimsy at the best.
And how come the people filiming these ghosts always look like backwoods rednecks. tongue.gif

I thought it was the lameness.

It's a crypto show. It seems as if they were in unfamiliar territory here. Myself, I wouldn't have given that piece of debris on the security cam lens two seconds.

On the other hand, the analysis of the Ghettysburg footage was interesting. So it wasn't a total bust.

I thought it was OK. I would've liked to seen better examples than what they used..
They shouldn't have gave that gas station blue mist whatever the time of day.. it's ridiculous footage, imo.
I liked how the analysis went with the ghost at Gettysburg, even though I don't agree with the expert opinion. I think the footage is authentic, not hoaxed. Besides, that guy who filmed it didn't appear to be that smart to pull such a hoax. again, imo.
The guy who analyzed the EVPs, that was interesting.

I could give a rat's patooty about the bug on the camera lens either, but it was a decent sized story, so I guess I can see why they gave it some time. I just wish it would have been more thoroughly debunked instead of trying to keep hope alive a little bit.

Gettysburg video was probably my favorite part. What was the expert's opinion? Something like, the person who took the video looped it to make it look like the figures were repeating themselves? Wasn't he able to tell whether or not that happened, or was that just his best guess? Kind of a pathetic attempt, really. Honestly, it's one of the more interesting pieces of footage I've seen. Seems residual, but then at the same time, I wasn't there. For all I know, it was real people. Still, really interesting.
Shankpin
Yea it was interesting. I thought the guy would have been able to say for SURE if it was looped or not, but he really didn't say, just gave out the possibility. Which makes me think it's even more real than I thought before.

I've heard better EVPS here on this site, btw..

just had to throw that in there.

I missed this one do you know if it will air again?

Haha, yeah...EVPs kinda sucked. I liked the audio tech guy being there. But "sure" was nothing and "Sooooo" was kinda dumb. But, it is what it is I guess. Its still an EVP, just not exactly the sweetest one ever captured.

laugh.gif Seriously, I was expecting something like "I killed my faaaaaaather" or "I'm not guilty" or something like that. It was the infamous Lizzy Borden house, forgodsakes!!

I saw the episode, and I still don't know what to think. I really liked the Gettysburg footage; it was something I had never seen before (unlike the Lizzy Borden house). The EVP's were weak; I don't like how they gave subtitles of what you were supposed to hear. I think it might have been a good episode... for a show about the paranormal. But we're talking about cryptozoology here. Get back to the beasties.

I hate this show, but I keep coming back and I don't know why. They're just so sporadic and nonsensical, I don't understand--but I always watch it... )x

My thoughts... it was crap. It's called "MonsterQuest" for a reason. Let TAPS handle the ghosts, at least TAPS throws out more compelling evidence and has better explanations and debunking methods. I thought this episode was more of a rip than the Hogzilla one. They choose the worst things to analyze, like the gas station footage, because there are undoubtedly better things to choose from. What they collected at the Lizzy Borden house was anything but compelling, and of course, they could have chosen better places to investigate. :/

The EVPs didn't sound like EVPs at all. I think they were listening too closely, and picked out what sounded most out of place. ._. Honestly, I didn't hear anything in them but "eerrk" that was apparently supposed to sound like "sure" and an "hhhh" that was labeled as "so"...

It was completely rushed and unfocused, like all of the other episodes, and all they offer as evidence are the smallest, most insignificant pieces of nothing they can throw up. If they can't show something sensible, they really shouldn't make an episode about it.

But I keep coming back. I think it's because I want to see what all they can get wrong and pull out their arses next.

I concur. As far as evidence... there was nothing compelling in the Lizzy Borden House. But I thought the apparitions in the woods at Gettysburg was interesting. I don't get how the guy concluded that the person looped it? The guy who recorded it didn't look all that computer smart. I thought it was a different out look on a ghost show. I like MQ because of the scientific methods, research and equipment they use.

That one's been around for a while, though. It's a good video, but MQ just did not give the film justice. It wasn't looped either, the frames weren't identical, the guy who was analyzing said himself they were "almost identical"--or some variation of "almost". The man that filmed it looked honest, imo, not that he didn't look computer literate, but just that he looked sort of appalled when it was his turn to rebuke the whole "looped" situation.

That's one of the reasons I hate it. I don't think they try hard enough, and make their methods out to be "the best". On the ghost episode they said the Flir cameras they were using had never been introduced into a paranormal investigation before--and that was a complete lie. TAPS--just to follow up on the example I was using before--uses Flir cameras, very expensive, high-tech Flir cameras, all of the time. TAPS equipment heavily outweighs the stuff MQ was using.
Jason KB
Yeah, I can't believe an expert can't determine whether or not the footage was looped. If it was, fine, throw it out. But since he couldn't...since it was just a possibility, it still stands until they get a better expert, at least.

As far as the FLIR goes, maybe that was the newest model which TAPS, for instance, doesn't use yet? They kept saying it was the newest, clearest FLIR thermal yet. So, maybe if it's really new, it's possible that it hasn't been used before on a paranormal investigation. But who the heck knows?
therion24
I think it was very elementary. Not enough information about ghosts covered.

What, for instance, would you have liked to see on the episode?
