I finally signed up for this site would like to get some validation on past experinces and opinions on if they were real or not. ...I lived in a house where very strange noises were always occuring at night...so one night I hear a tapping at the window across the hall..I look and can kinda see someone there, and I asked what do you want..at that point there was a wave type translucent thing come thru the window...it was something i could see only because of the light distorted behind it.. (make sense)? It came at me super fast and hit me in the face, then pressurized my head/body like I was under water...then all of a sudden it turned into my great uncle all around me (he had been dead for quite some time, and was a preacher by profession), and basically explained the overall ideas of life...he showed my parts of my future that came true...then he was gone. fast fwd 1 yr, I had my gfriend spend the night..next morning she said she had a dream that she sat up in bed and there was a wave (explained it exactly as I saw it) over my body, kinda mimicking by size..thought it was very funny and fell back asleep. She never knew about my previous experience.
Things got so weird, that many times we would put a sheet around a table, to eliminate wind, and ask someone to move a paper...it always worked...wind was never around.
The worst time we were putting up a light and in the ceiling there was a very small area (like 1/4 inch circle) that you could pinpoint a very horrible sad moaning coming from it. It was coming from a 6 inch hole, but you could actually pinpoint the very small spot that it was coming from. I got in the attic and there was no wind that day and nothing that could have made the noise.
I am crazy or not? My ex says people that are kinda weird have a better time seeing things cause the mind doesnt fire correctly and allows to see things others dont? Background...I am very smart, ocd, engineer with a good job..just so you know I am not on psycho meds or anything..just a little quirky.
I have many more good stories, but these stand out at this time
So is this normal ghost stuff, or am I crazy

Hi, and welcome to UM..Many of us here have seen and heard very strange things, so no you are not crazy. Is the activity still going on, or did you leave that particular house? Certainly seems there was activity going on by your accounts. Its only my opinion that spirits are everywhere, and some of us can sense them, see them, or maybe just hear things, we are all different. The pressurized feeling is rather unique, if I dont say so myself. One other question? Are you always in bed or half asleep when things happen? That does not include the moaning? Thanks..JN

I also don't think you're crazy. If you were truly crazy you probably wouldn't be able to write about it.
It's really hard to say what's a normal ghost experience or what isn't, because there seems to be so many different types of experiences. Some are mild, while some are wild, so to speak.
Ignoring it may be easier said than done, but that's what I would try to do. At any rate, I wouldn't invite conversation or contact with it.

Well, alot of times its when I am asleep, then wake up...I assume that I am awake when things happen, as I am a very light sleeper. Ofter my ex would wake up and we would sit there saying what the hell is that noise..just assume it was a ghost (as opposed to a robber) and go back to sleep. I moved out of that house, and had a couple of strange dreams, in house #2 but nothing real weird....I was so used to things after I had a dream that the dead owner was welcoming me to the house, I verbally acknowledged that he was welcome to stay if, if he was there as long as they didnt bother me. One girl I was dating said she always saw ghosts in the house..oh ya...the best part...when my ex and I were breaking up, she was moving out of the house...I was very sad and went outside and asked the old owner (I met her at closing and she died right after) to please show me a sign I was doing the right thing and to hurry cause I was very upset...I went right back inside and there was my ex laying on the floor crying..she fell down the steps/just like the original owner did ( the owner had to move after falling down the steps and being scared to go back up in fear of injury...husband passed already). there was another night where it sounded like someone was violently going thru a bunch of personal love letters that we found when we bought the home..we were keeping them with the house...I was so scared I didnt go in that room, but could hear (another with me heard too) it.
In my third house..there were several days when there was alot of noise when in the shower like someone was really pissed and throwing things...

contact is one of those things though that I kinda enjoyed....I would ask questions all the time and alot of times get responses...With my great uncle he told me everyone has a set plan, and things that happen and people you meet are used to get you, and them to the next level you supposed to be at. I find that very relaxing for some reason. Sometimes I thing there may be another form of life going on around us...I mean, what if you could see sound waves, or hear light? Our senses are very finite. Its like my dogs dont know the world past the yard...they dont realize I go to work and buy their food at the store. The only see a small portion of life. I dont know there are just so many possibilities I ponder...thats why I signed up for this site I guess

I totally agree, and we have no idea what else is out there, why or where. When I need guidance or help, I ask for it, but not outloud and I get the sign either immediately or a day or so later and its not always the one I want, but we play with the hand we were dealt. Some of your experiences way back "could" be related to sleep paralysis, and will post a link on the bottom for you to read. Seems you are sensitive and tend to see things maybe others dont. Certainly no one has the answers, its all due to experiences and theories, but I honestly believe our bodies die, but our spirit/soul moves on to another dimension, and can interract with those we left behind..Some spirits are earth bound, and grounded to land, property or a home or dwelling. They mean no harm, its just they believe they still belong there. Others visit and then leave, and some are residual, and not aware they are deceased, and continue doing what they did in life, but dont interact with us. So the possibilites are endless, and thats why I joined this site, for help and to understand. Did you ever think of taking photos? If you are that perceptive, who knows, you might just catch something. JN

Hey there REVERB,
If it's true that only crazies experience these things, then I guess I'd better admit myself.
But seriously, I don't think you're wacko. You'll probably be amazed at the people (all different types, cultures, backgrounds, etc,) who experience this stuff.
& I don't think you have to be miss firing (?) to experience the paranormal, maybe a little sensitive to it is all.

I say missfiring as in your brain is acting differently...ever see studies where they put on the helmet with electrodes and purposely make the brain fire out of order?...Wife has worked with schitzo people for a long time and says they usually have super sensitive senses, and feels they can see ghosts if they were present (she doesnt believe)

I'm somewhat familiar with Mental Disorders. There are actually a few theories around that point. At this time, we don't really know enough to say anything for sure about any of it. But, it's an interesting concept, nonetheless.

I can tell you that in the 6 years I have been investigating the paranormal every story I hear like this one is almost always not true. I don't mean that you are lying, but something may be effecting your perceptions. Perhaps you were half asleep and in a lucid dream state, perhaps some sort of chemical is causing hallucinations, perhaps you are crazy.
If it really was your great uncle speaking to you it would be the first time I have ever known a story like this to be genuine. Impossible? maybe not, but highly unlikely in my experience. If all of this is really happening to you I would say that your home is one of the most haunted places I have ever heard of.
How long have you lived there and has it always been haunted?

I lived there for 5 yrs...my ex was living with me at the time and always heard things as well...we would just look at each other, and realize there was nothing we could do. With the great uncle dream, you could be correct that it was a dream, except that the other person saw the same thing quite a bit later without knowing anything about the previous experince.
I think things are drawn to certain people there was another time when younger, (condensed version), I went to a house, and was knocking on the door, I heard a very old persons voice saying to leave my note in the corner of the door, when I looked there was a very small slit to stick the note I had. The voice was like it was over a AM radio...very faint and kinda staticy..but enough where I was asking the person with me "what did you sa", sure enough when we left, I noticed there was a small cemetary across the street (kinda behind the house...not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.

Normally I wouldn't address this, but i just have to say, 6 years investigation the paranormal is not all that long and certainly doesn't make you an expert, and to say Perhaps you are Crazy, is pretty harsh. I just have to tell you that this post came off rather arrogant, and really rubbed me the wrong way. I don't know if you meant it this way, but it definitely came off as such. (and just to clarify i am not trying to be rude either, it was just a very arrogant and harsh)
to the OP, I wouldn't consider you to be crazy at all, and tend to agree with the others in here that you may just be more sensitive to your surroundings than others. I personally have never "seen" anything, but again that is why i do what i do, in hopes to actually see something!

Hi CP, Six years of investigating, is a drop in the hat compared to those who actually do tap into the spiritual world. Being an investigator relies on scientific evidence and personal experiences, but being sensitive or psychic is an entirely different way of life. I have heard from dead people my entire life, and saw things, most wouldnt, but that doesnt mean if you came to my house to investigate you would find anything. Many times the person is haunted, not the house. JMO..JN

My grandmother told me when I was a little girl that "some people can see what's in the air." She also told me that sometimes whats seen will scare a person to death, while other things that are seen are reassuring. She had many experiences in her time, everyone knew this. I understand what she means, now.
Some people are more likely to experience such things. They are more sensitive to that other place, that 3rd eye is open or more so than other people.

I was watching TAPs the other night, and while I was watching it I was thinking that most if not about all the time when these "anomales" are seen you are not expecting it. You go and look for something you can't find it. I have noticed the people they interview at the sites they investigate, see and hear things that TAPs just don't get. I have never seen but one apparition or actually it was a shadow person as been discussed on one of their episodes. It was in the prison. I saw one in my life, and it was the last thing on my mind that night, and I haven't seen one since.
I wonder what causes this. I know there are apparitions, I've seen one, but why that one time and that particular night? Why can't I go back to the same place and see it again? Do they sense they are being watched?
What say you?
best regards,
seax
