Ditto!
I saw this in the theater and it was one of the most effective scenes in the movie. The 'handheld' effect was spot-on. I was also creeped out by the alien's shadow pacing back and forth like a caged tiger when it was locked in the pantry.
I won't go into my feelings about the rest of the movie here except to say that sophisticated aliens who wanted to invade our planet and harvest us for food wouldn't attack (a) naked, (

essentially weaponless, their only real weapon being a poisonous gas that can't even kill an already-sick little boy; © when our planets & even our bodies are at least 2/3 water and
the stuff is like acid to them.
Okay, one more thing: when your movie features an alien invasion, its theme is
not about the renewal of one man's spirituality.
