I was just doing some thinking a few months back, and I came to a very interesting conclusion with respect to Heaven vs Hell. I am an atheist, and most intelligent people these days are atheists as well, so am I wrong in thinking I would actually prefer dining in hell with Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Carl Sagan, etc.. then be up in Heaven with stuck up milk toasts from the suburbs chatting about the effectiveness of their new diet?
Wow, you sound like the very people you condemn. All those men you listed that you would rather dine in Hell with don't even believe in Hell, and reject the possibility of it. You have wasted an entire page on scolding religious people for the sake of venting. Maybe you should state your true intentions of your post before you post it so us religious people won't have to waste the time typing our dismissal of such a ludicrous post.

I think, as strange as it may sound, that even if heaven and hell were proved true, I would PREFER to go to Hell! And please do not argue about "smart" people being atheists, you know it is true and that is not the main point of this post anyway.
Practice what you preach, not what others do. If you don't agree with other teachings, then live by those you do accept, not by those you don't. Smart atheists know that there is already a word to describe smart people, and that is smart, not 'atheist.' If you refine the word 'atheist' more than what it really means (one who does not believe in God), then you have rendered both smart and atheist useless, seeing that one can no longer tell the difference. Open up a philosophy book every once and a while...and one on manners.
