I tried flying an RC copter once... crashed it good... RC planes are easy, more power to you if you can fly an RC heliocopter and not smash it to a billion bits learning to fly it. I admire your dexterity and fine motor skills!! LOL

I used to, but my reactions are too slow nowadays to cope with it!

As you know it only takes the slightest delay in compensating for motion, to allow a disaster to happen and once I had written off 2 very expensive models, I decided to stick with relitively cheaper fixed wing models. crying.gif

trouble is helicopters are notoriously finicky to fly and very sensitive to inputs either from the controller or from the environment.

Real Helicopters reduce the pilot workload using stability augmentation systems - basically computer controlled jacks or actuators that automatically damp out the aircrafts natural control oscillations.

having said all this, I agree with you - flying RC Helicopters is exhilirating fun and should definately be on everyones 'things to do before its too late' list! thumbsup.gif

I've flown rc planes, boats ( boats are so fun), and cars but no helicopters. They look so fun. i see people flying them at the park often.
