I just wondered , what do you think would happen if the Messiah described by the Jews were to appear ? what would that do to Christianity and to the Muslim faith ? How do you think they would react ?
~HaParash~
According to Judaism, because of the widepread believers of those two religions, most of their adherents would immediately realize their mistake (which is described in Isaiah 53). I think if HaMashiach were to come Christians and Muslims would become Noahides and then the world would start to become a better place and the things which the prophets prophesied about would come true.

The problem is that the one the Jews accept as their messiah. Will in fact be the anti-christ. According to the nt.
Genocyde
So there will be a war between the Jewish and the Christian............anti-christ vs savior....who is right....dun dun duuuuuun
Lt_Ripley
so this means christians will see this messiah as the 'anti - christ' ? and if this messiah is in fact 'the' messiah then what ? remember jesus didn't fulfill all the requirements to be considered messiah according to the bible. So if one does .............???

(I myself believe in no such need for a messiah anywhere just people who need a middle man to get to God. no biggie. some need a middle man . I go to the big cheese himself. so to speak.)

Yes sort of. But by the time the war comes the Jews will realize that he isn't whom he claims to be. And the united states will defend isreal.

Actually most of the Christians will see him as Christ. According to Christ the only ones who really believe in him will not be fooled.

The Jewish concept of a messiah does not see him as a middle man.

That would be a meaningless question because that would change God's ideas and way he thinks. As Niels Bohr said, "Don't tell God what to do."

Everyone.

Better place meaning:
-World peace
-No more war
-A healthy environment
-No more death
-lack of disease

Things like that. However, (though some Rabbis disagree with it) there is the opinion that all these things will come naturally (which is what I believe). That world peace and no more war will come through diplomacy. That a healthy environment, no more death, and lack of disease will come from scientific innovation....however, I believe this won't happen till we've stopped spending so much money on wars and spend more money on science.

I agree we need to spend less on wars and more on science.l

Some will see him as false prophet and others as the true messiah...would be one hell of a flame war.

It's not a dream, its what I believe. Christians will realize that Jesus isn't the Messiah, and Muslims will realize that the Jews have been right all along. It may take a while for that realization to come across. I think many will realize it immediately.

that question could be asked of any messiah. there is no proof jesus was. just someone's opinion he was. plenty of other messiahs were around at the time of jesus - kinda like a dime a dozen. jesus just had better PR ?

All it takes is for one to read the Jewish scriptures in their native Hebrew to realize that Jesus is not the Jewish Messiah. If one had the ability, a christian could try stepping out of his/her christianized mindset and read the Jewish Scriptures in english from a reliable Jewish translation. They would see that the Jewish messiah has yet to come. Jesus is nothing more than a greek hero.

I think there would be a line just like at the booth at the county fair for those fried apple cider doughnuts , waiting to get back in his good graces......

Of course if we spent nothing/much less on science, our wars would be much less effective/destructive. Perhaps we should spend all our money on making spiritual/ ethical advances in the nature of humanity, and keep doing that until our morality/ethical knowledge has caught up with our scientific knowledge.

It's not really my business, but let's see what we have here...

So the messiah thing seems to be the crux (no pun intended, if you know Latin) of the misunderstanding between the three Semitic religions. One can't get rid of the "messiah thing" because they see him as the son of God.
The other can't recognize the other's messiah because he doesn't fit the prophesies. And another thinks it is their business to state what the messiah is for both the others.

Furthermore, two recognize one holy book (which isn't the same holy book.) One recognizes two holy books, but not the third. All holy books are proclaimed by a number of their followers to be the word of God, but really aren't. (Two holy books have anonymous authors, while another is reportedly from an angel to an illiterate person, who is claimed to have recited it from memory.)

Finally, two say they are right and that the others should convert to their beliefs, while the other says that you don't have to convert, just be righteous and faithful.

So there's only one way I can see to resolve it all:

Follow your faith, leave the others to follow theirs, and mind your own faith's business.

OK, that's three things, but they should be combined into one.
