Now I am not any expert at the whole Mayan calendar ending on Dec.21,2012. But many seem to think that because this calendar, that the mayans carved into a stone tablet, ends on that date, that the world is going to end or something. Others think that it just opens a state of higher understanding, and the theroies go on and on.

Well I want to put a theory into the hat that I have not heard anyone else ever state as a "possibility". What if this calendar that was carved on a stone tablet is just one of a set of two or three stone tablets that the Mayans carved their calendars on. I mean its on a stone tablet after all. They weren't writing on paper so they can't just turn the page and have another clear writing surface. Whats to say that they just didn't "run out of room" on the stone tablet that ends on Dec.21,2012 and started carving Dec.22,2012 on a second stone tablet but that second one has not yet been discovered?

Like I said, I don't know much about this topic so i don't know how the tablet is set up or anything, its just a thought that from the information i know about it, could be a possiblity. Let me know what you think?

i never thought about if there was a second tablet,it also sounds plausible to me.

EDIT: maybe if there is another table it might have been ment to be found after 2012 and thats why it hasnt been found.

I myself don't think the world will end either. If i had to say anything it would be that because of the placement of our solar system in the universe or plain or whatever is supposed to happen with us in the big picture of space, that there will be changes in the climate and maybe bad ones, i don't know. Just a thought.

the climate changes i think are here already but many people refuse to belive in global warming.If the things i've read about the mayan prophecies in 2012 are true than there wont be any bad changes only good ones.

Maybe perhaps not the end of the world...but I do find it more than coincidence that egyptian and mayan and chinese also had the same date......

Maybe just the turning over a new page lol......(new tablet=new page)

Look, I have a 19th Century "Universal Calendar" which "ran out" on December 31, 1975 AD.

The world obviously didn't end when the calendar "ran out."

what we have to understand here is the world will never end...just the world as we know...man...animal...in some form will go on and on and on and on as it has for billions and billions of years. nuff said !

yeah this is also along the lines of what i think will happen. i reckon in a decade or two technology will be too great and will overtake humans as they will be cleverer. we may end up back to bow and arrows in times to come.

The world is not going to end but a new awakening will began, At least thats what I feel

Isn't there more then one of these Mayan calendars? I've always assumed that they were all over the place. If only one exists that throws the whole end date thing into a tail spin, as who is to say that this is a Real Mayan Calendar and not, say, some rogue kings idea to establish his rule.

what do you mean by all over the place, like all over the world or all over of the places that the mayans lived?

Edit: Looking at a couple sites, there was more then one calendar. These calendars were in all cultures in Mezoamerica. So I don't think part of the calendar got lost. The whens, whys and hows all seem to be spelled out by researchers. Some Central American peoples still use this kind of calendar.

I don't neccessarly think people refuse to believe in global warming. I think people refuse to believe that man can do anything about it. I think people refuse to be force feed a belief that it's mankinds fault that there even is global warming.

I have read or seen something about the "good changes" being like a higher state of awareness or something to that effect. I don't know much about what is supposed to happen. what have you read or seen?

Sounds like a reasonable theory. The tablets also could of been looted and are in someones private collection or outright destroyed by greedy gold seekers.

Does anyone know where this calendar is held & located??? I would really like to visit the ancient Mayan ruins and examine & look at the calendar for myself. With an expert describing everything for me..

the things iv'e read mostly say that a new era will beging and era of prosperity,love,awarness and all the good stuff,but how its gana happened i dont know.I think any theory about how it will happen is valid untill it all happens.


im not sure where its located but my best guess is that it should be in a museum in mexico or any museum.

Hmm...I'm going to throw out my own crazy theory. Everyone talks about how the Mayan "disappeared" and such. Well then I say on December 21st, 2012 the Mayan are going to come back. And they're going to be mad

first off, oddly that is a day right after my little sister's birthday, she will be turning 19 then. also december 21st is the day i had surgery done on my eyes back in '94 to improve my vision. Coincidence eh?


1. maybe it means december 21, 2012 is the last time ever anything will have to be handwritten, technology will step up then typing on computers and screens might be the new "hand writing", and things are going to be built BIGGER :?



2. or life is going to be different, going into a whole new trend, like a snake shedding it's old skin, and things will become more clear, new levels of understanding :?



3. or the climate is going to completely flip upside down, like up north will have Tornadoes, and down south will be freezing, basically a flip-flop of what it is now



or all 3 may be coming into play :?
