Extinction

In my opinion, if an alien species managed to get to Earth from millions of light years away, they would probably think so lowly of what we've accomplished so far, they would just ignore us. My theory kind of gets rid of encounter stories, but I'm not really saying it should. I believe that some aliens thought we needed help and came here. Maybe they were the inhabitants of Atlantis? Maybe there is some kind of intergalactic radio in the pyramids? I don't really know.
I wanted to here everyone's opinions on this theory, so post away.

I actually agree with part of this theory. My thing is this: why in the devil would they come to a planet where we persecute our own race for looking or believing something different. They must realise that they would be killed or at least some one would attempt to kill them the moment they landed

Completely true! We're not open to new things. We fear the unknown. We would kill something that was different just because we could.

Yes but to fear the unknown is not a bad thing. It becomes bad when people refuse to accept the unkown or try to LEARN from the unkown.

Earth could be seen as *gas station* in a slightly out of the way (sic), part of the galaxy.
We might not be that intelligent but, as intelligent species that develop technology, might not be that common ,any that our found are studied, like we study the apes
Earth might be a theme park.."Scream if you want to see the monkeys shoot each other"
We amuse them with our blind prejudices and laughable technology, so they send trips to giggle at us.."Scream if you want to go soooooooooo slow"
42 and the mice did it
Students on a gap year..."Oh it was so like so totally dweebsville, i spent 2 months flipping slices of bovine offal and asking people did they want that with reconstituted corn husk seared in hydrogenated fats"
Just becasue they can, in the same way people walk across the Antarctic on one leg pulling a 250lb dead seal whilst whistling the entire repertoire of the Beach boys...
Testing the hypothesis of an Urban Legend. In the same we we think that penguins topple voer trying to follow jets that fly over them they come to earth becasue they believe if they appear in glowing and sparkly form we create yet another religion... oh...

I don't think a spec of dirt in the cosmos like earth would be worth wasting time and energy to get here for aliens.

I'm sure a foothold for universal territory be highly desired, regardless the value of any worlds.

It would be kind of cool if the aliens were building an intergalactic empire! That be odd though, because they would have conquered us a long time ago.

I'm a firm believer that aliens are just like us in similarity, and they share some of the same ideas that we do. Whether they are technologically advanced is another thread all together IMO. I believe they are here and have been here since man first appeared, and that a reveal is coming.

I like your idea. It's nice and firm. Well, they would have to be technologically advanced to even get here though.
