Okay anyone who has seen Harry Potter movies has seen Dumbledore's office, and all the cool stuff that is in there. I know what some of the things are by name like an orrery, and an armillery, hourglass etc. I have also seen posters with wizards as the subject and I keep seeing a lens on a stand, and heard it called a wizards glass, but I can't find any online. I did find a miniature of something the artist calls a wizard's lens, which is what I'm looking for but if it has a proper name or term for it, I would love to know..do you??

here is the link to the miniatures (which are amazing) and what she is calling a wizard's lens.

(mods feel free to move this I had NO idea where exactly to put this...)
The Wise Raven
meh,If I was you I would go for buying a time-turner (I think u can get those cuz' my mate has a VERY expensive one which sits in his display case at home: But he was a former HP nut and spent over £300 on HP stuff...how he convinced hes mom to spend all that on HP stuff I'l never know)

EDIT: If it had a real name/importance J.K would've mentioned it...so I think we'l just have to stick with 'wizards-lens' for now

I've seen the time turner its very nice, probably from a place called the Noble collection. The thing I'm talking about is not HP specific. I've seen it many different places in other movies and in illustrations. I'm more interested in if it has an actual name. The things I named in the first post actually exist, and are older scientific instruments, and you can find them fairly easily.

The "Wizard's Lens/Glass" is a magnifying lens.
