When I read the title of the thread I thought, someone probably spotted Venus again, but the moon?

There is a deeper issue to this... A few years back while some work was being done on my house the question of when Easter was came up. I replied, ahh not sure and the reason it moves is something to do with Easter Sunday always being something like the second Sunday after the first new moon in March, which is why it can be as late as in early April.

The builder looked at me and said..."Dunno mate, never look at the sky"

And there you go, the recent spate of UFOs stories and documentaries have got a whole rake of people looking up in the dark when they simply never did before... if you have never really bothered to look and simply have the mindset of the moons appearance from post cards etc, where its' size tends to be way over exaggerated for artistic effect...... You look at the actual moon when it is more than a few degrees above the horizon and it is tiny compared to the picture you have in your brain. Therefore can't be the moon...

Well actually there have recently been sightings in Wales recently
My mum (who lives in the welsh valleys) phoned me one day and told me she had seen a bright object in the sky around 10.30 that hovered in one spot, before it slowly started to move in one direction. It stopped and then suddenly shot off really quick and vanished out of sight.
