THE EVP: WHAT YOU'LL HEAR

Stacey Jones describes what you'll hear on the recording:

"You can [faintly] hear the three females talking throughout the recording. You will hear a female – the family member – say, 'Hello, baby,' and another long conversation. Those are all human voices. But what sounds like a struggle or attack is going on as well.

"The male [voice] you hear was not present at the hotel. You will hear a cuckoo clock (which was not present) a ticking of a hall clock (which was there); you will hear what sounds like the microphone being moved (which was not touched) and then the sound becomes clearer.

"You will hear a creaking door and slamming of the door, which is real. Then you will hear a [unknown] woman say, 'Get off me,' and what sounds like the woman being attacked. The struggle continues for awhile, and during the EVP you can hear some of my investigators' conversations. After interviewing my investigators, they said they went and sat on the stairs of this hotel, because they heard from an above floor, what sounded like footsteps and conversations, not what you hear on this recording. When the noises stop, you hear the investigators participate in a lulled conversation. They stated that they started to talk when the noises stopped. In their conversation, you will hear a male voice say, 'Help me' several times."

That's interesting. I couldn't listen to the whole thing, however, because the sounds that sound like a bird squawking, or a chimpanzee causing a ruckus got on my nerves.

I instantly bypassed all 'prompting' and went straight to audio link.
Was overload of pure rhythmic 'mechanical' sounds. Nothing much being distinct nor seperate.

I then read post and listened again. I could see where the sounds easily could have been translated into english words / actions, after being 'prompted' as to what was going to be heard.

I felt nothing was disturbing nor horrific one bit.

Rather listen on my own without being told what I'm expected to hear.

If it's purely genuine it's wonderful.

are you definiatly sure the microphone wasn't tampered with? unless of course the mic was sensitive, any idea what they used?

I heard a female voice cry for help several times throughout the recording, the struggle or attack seemed to take up most it. The only disturbing thing I found in the recording though was what someone mentioned previously, it sounded like an animal rather than a human.

New York is backing it up, they are not a shabby Org.

Hm...I don't know what to make of this.

There are definitely human voices on this, but I'm kind of confused.

I can't tell when the conversation between the investigators begins...like, how am I supposed to tell the difference between that and the EVPs? :-/ If I'm hearing this correctly, then the "ghost" woman has a very sultry voice, I think.

What's that weird noise you hear throughout the whole thing? It goes on for a long time by itself at the beginning before you actually HEAR anything. 0.o

Well, I just listened to the whole recording, finally found the time

I loved it! not scary at all, sounds vicious.

Why don't they investigate the hotel further? if this is highly regarded evidence, more recordings should be made, better equipment used and the crew should not be present neither should they interfere with the sounds.

makes me want to go get a digital recorder and start EVPing myself

I have to agree with Owlscrying. Lots of rhythmic mechanical sounds.

The recording generally and over all seems to be of very poor quality, or maybe user error (wrong speed setting). If it were a good recording, the real-human voices would be MUCH clearer. I was actually quite shocked that a group would talk low as they were. Many groups either perform a plant-and-retrieve method, or if they remain in the recording vicinity, they talk in normal voices, so it is clear who is "real" on the recording versus any other recorded sounds.

The "monkey screaming" sounds are, IMO, greatly distorted sounds of something more generic. I can't put my finger on it.

I didn't listen to the entire thing, but stopped it in various places and listened.

It was said earlier that they are not a shoddy group, and if that's the case, I would have liked to have heard a better example of evidence from them. JMO, though.

i have no idea what to make of this
maybey it was the next door couple laugh.gif who knows

I usually like EVPs but, I think this one is complete rubbish. The quality is so poor, you can hear mechanical sounds (coming from the actual recorder), and I think what we are interpreting as scary sounds are in fact normal every day sounds.

If you really want to be freaked out by an EVP, then google "Russian Exorcism"
That one is downright frightening.
Pol_Pot_will_killyou
That Russian Exorcism... no bueno. no.gif

yeah, youre totally right. kinda sounds like a zoo or pet shop to be honest. with a crappy mic. the kind that doesnt get all the sound fed into it, because it cant take that much. so it kinda cuts out here and there.
