My grandmother , when she drove , since I was a kid always had this little virgin Mary statue ( only about an inch and a half high) on her dashboard. On the last car it was in she had super glued it to the dash. ( she got tired of it falling over lol )

well somehow it broke off and fell in the heating duct at the base of the windshield , never to be seen again. There it remained for a couple of years.

She came home from church one day with that little Virgin Mary in her hands and said in her thick Ukrainian accent " Shelly , I was thinking about that little statue and how much I missed it . I came out of mass and there it was sitting on the dash board. " needless to say Mary didn't go for any more rides.

I always thought maybe my grandfather who passed away years ago must have fished it out for her.

That is touching, Lt. Maybe it was your grandfather...or maybe it was God giving her a little spiritual uplift..

Maybe a stranger was walking by, saw it down in there from outside, and fished it out as a good deed?

"I don't care if it rains or freezes
As long as I've got my plastic Jesus
Sitting on the dashboard of my car.
You can buy him phosphorescent
Glows in the dark he's pink and pleasant
Take him with you when you travel far."

Agreed.

It makes me think of some past experiences -- like my car wreck in May of '07. There is no way that we should have lived, let alone walked away from that wreck. I think things like these are God's way of sending us messages outside of the Church.

Before I begin: I'm not one of the countless saps who have posted saying "Aw, so sweet" or "God is so kind" because God is an imaginary man in a cloud and I cannot bare such levels of spirtuality crap.

You gave us the answer in your post. It was your grandad. Aw what a nice thing to do end of story.

No miracle.

No god.

No mystical gremlins making the world a better place.

Just a kind deed.

and until I seen this today I forgot I posted this. lol. I rarely think of it.
