I recently stumbled upon a story and website dedicated to a person who referred to himself as John Titor. The guy claimed he is from 2036 and was sent on a mission to grab up an IBM 5100 (or 5110) computer from 1975. His predictions about a civil war in the United States that progressively escalates through 2008 and is full blown around 2012 or 2013 and his explanations of his "time travel" device are actually kind of believable.



Anyway, I recommend reading all the material on this website

If nothing else, it's really interesting.

If a civil war had really started in the united states in 2004, don't you think it would have been obvious by now, as it is now 2008? Coincidences aside, John Titor was wrong...he said he was from the future, so it's not like he claimed he was psychic and predicted these events and the dates might be off a bit. He named precise dates as if they had already happened, and yet, there was no civil war in 2004.

boy the dialogue in that link with the "time traveler" sure is ummmm intelligent.

John Titor will be proven wrong when 2008 Olympics starts

All he had to do was name the presidents all the way to the year 2036. Surely he would have remembered that. Oh but he is already wrong. Enuff said.

sounds like after if what is predicted is true, there will be no more presidents for a while.

for me, this is why he was such an obvious hoaxer.... coz he said that his being in the (his) past was changing the timeline, and so altering when the civil war started, ended .... and all the rest of it.

this is why he was so clever. Fake, but clever, because his claims could not be proven wrong.

i bet he's kicking himself that he cant get a cut of the royalties from the films and books...
