He is convicted of killing and eating his girlfriend, but he is today living as a free man in a Swedish town in spite of the fact that there are chances that he will kill – and eat – again.
The then 30-year-old man killed his 28-year-old girlfriend in November 1979 by drowning her in the bathtub. According to the Swedish paper, he divided her into pieces and ate large parts of her while drinking wine.
The police in Malmö found several kilos of human flesh in the man’s refrigerator, while the rest of the woman, the man had eaten, flushed down the toilet or thrown into the sea.
Full StoryThis is one of the reasons I support the Death Penalty 100%... this man has no right to walk the streets again!

Dang It Nxt2Hvn. This is one of those Dmned if you do/don't stories. The guy is now 54 years old. CORRECTED version He was convicted Sorry
Had he been convicted, I would not be so quick to request a death sentence. This is only one time. I mean It's not like Jeffery Dahlmer.
Besides I've CENSORED a few girlfriends in my time.

I think the punishment should fit the crime. In this case we lock him up in Solitary, and drop a few hungry rats in there. They'll slowly eat him away.
But that's probably the reason, why I'm not a Warden.

Good idea. Before we both get this thread closed.
Anyway I'm not big on the death penalty in all cases. But after having my assistant read the story to me. I think they at the very least should have kept him locked up.

I totally agree! I support the death penalty 100% for sickos like this.
Though the electric chair is too humane, so I like the hungry rats idea!
Whatever harm you cause someone, you should have it done back to you.

While I'm not totally for or against the death penalty. (based on historical Facts on how it is used) If they put this guy in the general population of a prison, he would save the state alot of money. trouble is he ain't in a U.S. state prison.

The death penalty is as savage as any other killing. If your religious God said "Thou shalt NOT kill" not "Thou shalt not kill unless it's for revenge purposes". 2 wrongs don't make a right. I agree that this man should not be 'walking free', he should be spending the rest of his days rotting in prison. The death penalty is antequated and archaic. Any religious people who support it, really do need to take a step back and have a look at themselves and they're hipocrisy. It serves no purpose except the taking of a human life. No one should have that choice, not even the MIGHTY US.

I'm in full agreement with you Jimma and find it quite astonishing that someone who is a christian supports the death penalty!
A true christian should realise that this man will be ultimatly punished by God.
I wonder how many innocent people have been wrongly killed by the courts due to corrupt evidence. Prehaps the Judges will share the same fate when their time comes!

Yeah halo your dead right.
I agree with everything you said.
I too find it astonishing to that people who are christians can support the death penalty. It just contradicts the bible.
This is just gonna devolve into a religious for an against the death penalty argument lol.
Maybe we should try an find out what caused him to do this terrible thing an try an cure him. in the long term is that not the better option.

As an athiest I have no religious convictions against the death penalty, in fact I would support us increasing it to more countries and more crimes, clearing out the prison systems and saving tax payer money being spent on men and women who will never change

I support the death penalty, except for one thing. THE GOVERNMENTS ARE INCOMPETENT!!! In the states the sanitize the lethal injection needle. And excecutions can be delayed hours because they can't find a vein!! he is going to die no matter what. just shoot him it barely costs any thing.

That very intelligent cannibal is sick. He should be have been fried to death. Just because he has high intelligent (has good memory..etc) doesn't make him intelliigent or a better person.
