Ok I didnt quite know where to put this... so if i have put the thread in the wrong place let me know!

Last night I had fallen asleep with my laptop on my bed, my headphones in with msn voice chat open with my boyfriend on the other end.
Now we usually fall asleep like that because we have a long distance relationship at the moment and we like to hear each other in the morning.

Last night he rings me asking me if im alright, he sounded kinda shaken. Apparently while i was sound asleep he had heard through his headphones what sounded like two men enter my room followed by screaming, loud frantic screaming. He swears he heard it loud and clear through the speakers and could still hear it while he searched for his phone. Then it stopped suddenly. He called me and I had been fast asleep...certainly not screaming. (my flatmate would have heard..)

It freaked me out and i slept with the lights on all night lol

Has anyone else had something similar happen?? Does anyone have any ideas? and dont tell me hes crazy.. it was a one off thing.

If he was logged online and you were also this means that the line was open . chances are it was interference or someone elses computer or signal interfering with yours . maybe someones tv that he heard or a domestic dispute someplace else .

Have you considered that he could have dozed off for a few seconds and dreamt it . but as he wasn't asleep long he assumed it was real and in the heat of the moment panicked , you did say it was late .

The main thing is your safe and thats all that matters . whatever it was i would put it too the back of your mind and try not too worry. Chances are it was something normal occurring and your boyfriend misinterpreted it .

Just my opinion original.gif

Well I'm glad that you're ok and that nothing bad happened to you. The first thing that I thought was that it might be interference from another source, because like SS79 said, it would be an open line. I know that when I have my headphones on that are connected to the speakers on my computer, I can hear faint voices which sounds like people whispering. It can be kind of creepy, especially at night. I'm not sure where the interference is coming from though. Let us know if it happens again. thumbsup.gif

How frightening for him! (I think its very sweet that you stay online all night together too).

There is no way to know if it were a one time thing or even real. Is your home noted to have any paranormal type activity? Is there any reason to suspect anything weird like that in your home or even your boyfriend's home?

How long have you been staying online like this?

Keep an eye on it. Can you record while online also? Maybe try that and see if it happens again.

Good luck!

he may have dreamt this, wanting you to be safe being a long distance relationship and worried about you, however, if the interference was quite clear then well... I dont know much about interference and all and just put this issue up.

Thanks for the comments. I am inclined to think he was just having a bad dream but none the less it still freaked me out lol. We have been falling asleep together for about 7 months and its never happened before. Although i did move around 2 months ago, i dont think its a very old apartment building, however the area i live in is one of the oldest areas in australia (white colonisation wise).
My computer runs through the net wirelessly though so it could have been interferance.

It might be any number of things but imo that space would be worth setting up an evp recorder for a few nights.
No sense letting a possible opportunity pass, eh wink2.gif

I am not intimately familiar with MSN voice chat, but I know there is a way to log the text chat - do you have logging turned on? If so, you might be able to verify what your boyfriend heard. Maybe it will end up being snoring or something...

When I was a kid, we lived near where they were building a new freeway in Fresno, California. So when I'd watch television with my mom, sometimes we'd wind up hearing what construction workers were saying on their radios.

However, I wouldn't write this one off as mere interference as you said your boyfriend heard it as though people were fighting in person... Unless the fight were being recorded and broadcast somehow... Unless it was actually a TV program... Just, make sure you lock your door all the time and get a good baseball bat!
