Daggera

I have noticed there is a large amount of individual threads of personal and published artwork a like, and I thought perhaps I would create a topic that invites everyone to show there talents or pieces of art they have encountered and display it here. So please share what you have rather its stories, photographs, drawings, paintings, lyrics, poems, what ever is beautiful and interesting to you.

Ok I guess I will start.

I am not very good and this is old but here is some of my work I will update when I decide to stop being lazy and submit my more recent stuff.

Trapped in our Love

It was as if our hearts burn by the heat of intense

passion

Our bodies were inflamed by the overwhelming desire

consuming us in fire

The kiss feeding the coming lust threatening to burst

within our dwelling forms

Each touch becoming more intoxicating then the last

Building the addiction in every breath taken

We gather in a close embrace and I swear that wings

extended from our souls so that we may fly among the

company of glittering stars filling the night skies in

total enchantment

We fallen victim deep within a lake of our own pleasure

soon to be drowned by the waves

No way to escape the look concealed within your

beautiful eyes

Trapped by the words you whisper to my tender ear like

a comforting dream

I am a slave to the love we share
-Daggera

A Place Called Hope

The sky may be above me with out giving me

wings, but I was born to reach for it.

I may crash on the ground, but I was made

to stand.

I maybe weaker than my foes but I will not

prove them so.

The world was build to be taller than me

but I am one with it.

Life has many tough roads but I'm ready to

take them.

The stars are far in space but I was meant

to go beyond them.
-Daggera

Ok there is some poems I wrote, and later I will post more along with some pitures but please share some of your own if you wish.

There not the best but its fun to create.

Very interesting work Daggera. The use of analogy is excellent within your poetry and the artwork, well, I am envious. I wish I could draw especially free hand but my only talent in art seems to be creating my own alphabet with symbols based on the letters but that look slightly different. Symbols have been something I have always drawn as a child and I have tried other things such as people and scenery but they end up in failed attempts or very abstract. I will write a spontaneous poem now to contribute to this post.

Our Own Religion

You were the goddess
the huntress of my heart
I was the simple hunter
whom your arrow did part
We had a secret language
and rituals all our own
It was a simple magic
we shared when all alone
Our spirits would meet
in the land of the faerie
Under a silver moon
we said vows and married

Then the darkness came
the stars refused to shine
Shattered dreams like glass
our very own end times
And what a rapture sweet
the first time we kissed
Even if our tongues lied
they never ever fell amiss
Drawn to one another
from distant ocean shores
Like two ships passing
leaving the sea like before

Don’t crush on your abilities like that, you are more talented then you may realize. You shouldn’t put yourself down you are gifted I assure you. I just can sense it.
They are most likely just dormant or you haven’t discover it, and it could be you need a muse to inspire you.
You got me to write poetry which I haven't done in a while and with more ease then last time. See your talented.

To be honest I was surprised someone replied I wasn’t really expecting it actually but I am glad you did, that was a beautifully written poem. Thank you.

Here is a little poem I written as thank you to the first reply. Its not much but here you are.

I guess I will call it...

Eternal Embrace

I will fight on in the memories that shape us
Binds us in eternal bliss
The burning radiance of the stars looming over our bodies
Unmasking the lurking shadows that have shielded our true form
We can live free with our soul stretching out forever
Flowing through the whispering wind without a catch of breath
Without a tear streaming from our faces
We will gaze within the sky and watch the moon beam upon us
With our spirits raised high we can float across the earth
Feeling tall grass between our fingers
Surrendering to the sweet scent of falling rain
We wait living endless in a still full motion of time
Witnessing the light spread across the heavens
The sun rises fading away the darkness as dawn blooms
The world continues to surge bringing life and death
Shattering every hope,
Every dream
Till nothing is left
But wet salty tears
Humanity is flaring into ash
And we still remain embracing our hearts

I do enjoy poetry, as you and clovis might soon see (though clovis has been around far before me) I'm quite good and making rhyme and verse, occasionally a typo... my one and only curse.

Chant of the Mad Mage

In a room with no windows and no doors
warm, dank air, with moldy squishy floors
sweet fungus film in which to spread the spores
only falls on me, but grows on open sores
at last a light, the sun burns much to bright
burns the skin and to the fungus blight
not to be trite, but I've gained too much height
and to my fright, the day is stabbed by night

silver beams of the moon and glitter from the stars
slowly gives away to golden solar bars
behold holy days but witness from afar
upon my mothers breast lies a savage scar
many moons pass I reach another age
now I feel it's time to turn another page
though wise beyond my years, I'm hardly quite the sage
my soul's fancy is to be a mighty mage

so much time and so much I can't beat
working in the cold to generate some heat
feasting in the evening of chunks of bison meat
by far, much better, than feasting from a teat
a nick from steel and out pours my blood
within my fingertips lies a mighty flood
crimson streams staining my pure white hood
reminding myself that some pain can be good

at last I've done it my hands spit forth fire
now to direct it, I'll need a wooden pyre
the hours grow late and my situation dire
because I live within a bog's mire
a conjure of fire I did cast twice
before I cast a giant spear of ice
the cold tingles like the feet of mice
and after the tingle comes the itch of lice

I stand alone in a desert to bring about the rain
I stand so still and cut my hand for pain
the blood it pours to think myself insane
but my blood can never make me plain
I stomp the ground for a bolt of lightning
for this element can be the most frightning
I stand so still with my palms holding string
and there I stand with string does lightning bring

I've mastered all power but the other side intrigues me
I mess with dark power for sight that only I can see
with death I bargain and soon I shall be
at the cost of my soul no longer to be free
now I wander in the deepest darkest night
only to behold the living for which I must have spite
though I remember my heart the aging forgets it quite
for the cost of my freedom, I gain eternal sight
Daggera
Wow that is mighty good, it sounds like you been a round for quite awhile. Its almost as if a elder mage wrote it himself, some one who has seen many battles over the years and encountered many dark paths.
Typos can be easly ignored with such words. Very cleverly written thank you for sharing. I hope to hear more of your outstanding work in the future.

Another very old picture I drew two years ago. Really simple drawing.

Thanks for taking the time and if you'd like I'll tell you the story, just ask.

Here's one of my poems;

I could spend forever asking
Why I love you so
Is it your face, your handsome looks
Your eyes as deep as ocean?
Is it the way you make me laugh
Could it just be your voice?
Or is it something deeper still
That I cannot even dream to understand?

I could write a soppy love sonnet
About your hands and whatnot
I could pen a haiku or even try an opera
But I think the easiest way by far
Is just to love you as we are.

Strictly, I'm a poet first, but I do draw and write stories. Maybe I'll post some later! grin2.gif

Love the last drawing Daggera it speaks of innocence meeting wisdom to me. Dragons are protectors of the land and so are fae. How fitting they should meet at the edge of the sea. Keeping in theme with Azmo's sorcerer poem let us see how fast I can write one in the moment. It will be about a child attempting to do magic.

Magier Kind (Child Mage)

Taking a flower twirling it within his grasp
placing it close to take in the scent
Reminded him of something so special and sweet
as he softly went to touch a petal was bent
She loves me, she loves me not...
continuing till the flower was finally spent

With a sigh he tossed the naked stem
and watched the breeze take away the rest
With a smile he said his secret to the air
and let it carry it to the east and the west
Committing his love to the four winds
knowing it would reach her and softly caress

Then with great care he touched pen to paper
and letter after letter her name did he spell
Closed his eyes saying a tiny, small prayer
then drew a crooked heart as his own did swell
Finally burning it on a candle's bright flame
this was the end of his three love spells
Daggera
That is lovely Harriet, I would be honored to hear some stories or perhaps your drawings. I look forward to it.
I like you avatar picture, its a face that speaks many words of passion, love, and perhaps a bit of sorrow.

Gorgeous,
Clovis as always your words is astonishing as a fairytale coming to life, truly remarkable.
I can actually picture that in my mind, thank you.
I hope to read more. original.gif

I wrote this one six years ago, back when I was in my last year of high school.

Protecing Angel

Your endless pitt of love has
buried it's self deep in the
soul of my heart.

I shall never leave your
shores.

Let me feel your heart
pound against your chest
and I will not hesitate
to give sir knight a kiss
from above.

Even with your armor steal
I shall wrap my angel wings
to comfert you from harm.
I shall place my hand on
your cheek to calm any
worry tears.

I shall smile to see your
happy face.

Let us make our loving
garden and never
speak the pain and
sorrows of the world.
Let me be your angel
Will you let me be your
protecting angel?

I would write you a more update poem but as of right now I need sleep and I can barely type the one attempted, but when I am more rested I will write one or perhaps a short story?
Harriet Reed
Thanks Daggera - I chose Girl With a Pearl Earring for my avatar because it is one of my favourite pieces of art. I loved your drawing Adam and Eve and when my scanner is up and running I'll post up some of my drawings.

The Comedian

'I'm sorry'
Was all I could say to the man at the funeral.
Scarce comfort for the grey head and down turned eyes
For the face we'd all seen on television.
A mourner amongst millions
For all the life death had taken and would still take in the future

He nodded, shuffled in his black suit.
We stood in awkward silence, neither of us wanting to be rude
And move away from the other's sorrow
His face no longer wore the deadpan of humour
But the stony grey mask of sadness.

Chasing Crows

The chicks attracted the crows
Like dead meat attracts wolves
They gathered up on the rocky hill behind our house
And waited.
When their patience was rewarded
With a meal I could pick up in my hand
We put up scarecrows in plastic raincoats
Dangled CDs off their wooden arms
To blind the crows.
One afternoon my sister saw two of them
All black angles and gleaming feathers.
She chased them away from the hill
Waving her arms in anger, making as much noise as she could
Until they were just scraps of black cloth in the distance.
When I saw them, I threw stones, I clapped my hands
I tried to hurt them, thinking
That if I drew blood, if I could wound one of them
They'd leave.
And all the while, the chickens pecked in the garden
Tranquil and unaware of the threat I was chasing away from them.
