I just had this interesting thought and I always wondered why some people acted more opposite of their gender & why they're attracted to the same sex. I think gay people may have been their opposite genders in their past lives.. Meaning a gay guy was probably a female in his past life & the female was actually a male in her past life. For some odd reason when they reincarnated into the present, the female's soul was incarnated into the males & vice versa. Which is why maybe some guys are very feminine & the girls are tom boyish. Yeah they're a female, but their soul is actually of a males, which is why they carry traits and have an attraction for the same sex. Anyway it was just a thought and I'm curious about people's views on this subject...

I share that same theory. One thing I would like to add is maybe if a female had to hold back on her feminine traits in her past life and was reincarnated as a man, it would make the man feminine. For instance, maybe she was an Omish and she couldn't express her true feelings.

Maybe a man had to be a Mr. Mom, or was somehow treated as a woman(no disrespect intended) and their soul is fighting to work it out.

I don't think that the most common reason is lust. I think it is somehow deep-rooted, or possibly it is just a chemical imbalance their hormones.???

I am a female that is not gay. There are certain parts of the day that I carry myself as a woman and other parts I carry myself as a man.

I am a head of household, work in a gruff industry, and have to do my errands myself. I wonder if this theory is true, what this is going to do to me.

I know I read that somewhere when reading about past life regression I just can't remember where I read it. It is a very interesting thought to me. I think we carry alot of things and baggage from past life that we are generally unaware of which come out in our personalities and fears and such or maybe that was something they chose to be in a particular life before they were born for some reason or another. Who knows I have friends that happen to be gay and the fact that their gay doesn't cross my mind it is just who they are.

Interesting theory o: But I sometimes act like a guy, and I'm a straight female, so maybe it also has to do with the hardwiring in their brains. Like why some people have feet fetishes - the wiring for sex and feet is connected somehow in their heads...

But it might be a possibility for some people x3

I am glad someone posted this, because I wondered the same thing, even with transexuals. Take into consideration those who lets say are male, but cannot come to grips with that, and feel compelled to be female because that is who and what they are! So with that said, they either play the part and some get surgery to become female. I dont think there is anything wrong with them, except possibly they were female in a previous life, came back too quick in a male body, and have to deal with the outside in order to feel complete on the inside..JN

I believe it is simply due to chanelling (for lack of a better word) the masculine or feminine energy. Nothing to do with past lives IMHO.

ravergirl do not let traditional roles of society fool you. You are not a man in any sense. You are a strong woman who will do for her family and there are many in this world in many societies. If you were a Muslim this would be your jihad. Jihad simply means struggle, it does not have to mean holy war, the true meaning is something like a mother struggling to feed her children in a cruel world. Anyways your strength is respected.

I had the same thoughts actually. I know some men who are a lot more feminine than I am its rather interesting but I think they should be themselves despite what the world thinks. Why be ashamed of who you are?

Good call. Also many men who have feminine traits are not necessarily homosexuals either. There are also more ways to channel the feminine energy for men or the masculine energy for females besides vocal patterns, mannerisms, or appearance. Much of it can be internalized and thought patterns. These same energies, the ones I mentioned before, can also be channeled by the proper sex which leads to macho men and girly girls. I think when it is the opposite though it is just gender confusion because some lesbians (not the lipstick ones) tend to act or feel more manly than most men as some gays tend to act or feel more womanly than most women. I think most of these are social issues because gender roles are a social concept. Other cultures might not have the same ideas when it comes to gender roles though due to modernization gender roles might be getting blurred as well.

I think other people, gay or straight, have equal chance of being male or female in a past life. There are tons of men who are more stereotypical feminine and not gay, and tons of women who are quite masculine as well. I don't think it has much to do with sexual preference. More with personality.
