I really don't know where to post this topic, actually, so due to the psychology involved with it, I went ahead and posted it here.

Last night while watching Scariest Places On Earth, they covered a report on the Sicily, Italy Catacombs. I've seen reports on the Catacombs before, just not the ones from Italy. Anyway, while watching, I began to become physically ill. I mean, I wanted to pass out by the time it was almost over and done with. It wasn't the sight of the dead, or the disdain for the dead being on display. I don't know why I became so physically upset over watching this report though. I know that when I turned it off, the illness seemed to just vanish out of me. This has NEVER happened to me before and I'm wondering if anyone else has ever experienced such a thing. I could probably accept it more if I were actually there physically and viewing the Catacombs in person, but to become so ill by watching it on a television show? And to have it leave as soon as I shut it off is a mystery too.

Thank you in advance for any and all serious replies to this thread.

P.S. No, it wasn't the verbage used in the report that made me ill either, as they weren't using any undesireable graphic words to describe the Catacombs. I know what bothered me the most about all who are on display there were the Cardinals, the children and the infants. But, not enough to make me ill.

Maybe you have a past life connection with that place. Seeing as you said it was the first time seeing images of that praticulary catacomb maybe it triggered a feeling a past life might of had. Maybe even one of these bodies you seen might of bein you in a pass life. Then again maybe it had nothng to do with the t.v show at all and it was just a chemical imbalance that made you feel ill and it just had good timing to go with watching and ending when you turned the tv show off.

If you felt like you were going to pass out, that's a reflex many people have to different situations.

Everyone has this reflex where extreme blood loss causes your body to slow your heart to reduce blood pressure and hopefully slow blood loss long enough for it to clot. The problem is that some people can mentally trigger this reflex. I know because its happened to me about 4 times in my life. First time was in biology class in grade 10, we were taking about the heart and my vivid imagination got me thinking about my own hearth and what would happen if it stopped, etc... then I suddenly felt ill and weak and felt like I was going to pass out.

Doesn't sound like a big deal, but when it happens I feel very ill, weak, I have no measureable blood pressure (can't feel my pulse), my vision has went dark for some of them, and I have to sit down because I can't stand. I've never actually passed out, which is what many people do. This is basically what happens to people that faint at the sight of blood (or whatever). They're not passing out from fear, rather a sudden and real drop in blood pressure.

Anyhow, that's something to consider.

The thing is is that I didn't have the emotional connection usually experienced with a past life memory. I have that whenever I see the Isle Of Avalon or Ireland. No fear was attached to Catacombs video. I just became increasingly nauseated and light headed, and I wanted to pass out.

That very well could have been what happened, but the lingering question of "Why?" remains with me. I mean, why when I was watching ONLY that segment of the whole show did this come upon me? And why did it disappear when I turned the show off and removed myself from the whole experience? Strange.

So far I can't find a link. I'd suggest searching YouTube for Scariest Places On Earth for July 23rd, 2008 airing? I don't know if that's how you find it or not. Otherwise, I wouldn't know where to go, other than the Sci Fi Channel's website.

Such a thing can happen from many causes. Often its physical. Once it happened to me from doing too much excersice too quickly (made myself hypoglycemic).

But it can be from any sudden emotional response. Last time for me was 2 years ago, I was reading an article about a new cryo heart transplant technique, I remembered back to highschool when I had the almost-fainting episode, and that's what triggered it (remembering the fear of the first episode). Not really afraid of blood or hearts (I did disections in highschool) so I'm not *exactly* sure what triggered the first episode.

I only recently figured what it was (Central Ischaemic Response), strangely enough from the same magazine that talked about the cryo heart transplant. It's basically the same thing that causes some people to faint at the site of blood. The symptoms were all there, including a factoid that it first often happens as a teen (which was my case).

If you ever have a similar experience, feel for your pulse in your throat. If your heart is beating extremely slow, or you feel no pulse at all (blood pressure to low), that's what it is for sure.
