Anyone fancy writing a bit of poetry? I was thinking that maybe this topic could act as a sounding board for people's poetry - you know, write a poem, comment on another, that sort of thing. I'll start with one of my own, but whatever poetry you're into, feel free to post it up.

Beach

Blue waves smash down onto rocks worn smooth by sea.
A seagull squawks against the salt laden wind
As grey clouds threaten to overfill and drench the landscape in rain.
No one comes here, no families, no dogs, no tourists.
It's too bleak for a beach; there's no sand or shade
Just stark rocky cliffs with tufts of grass that act as seagull nests
And a treacherous jumble of pebbles and stones all the way down to the sea.
