"A Case for a Creator." Is that by Lee Strobel? Is it any good?

Yeah, it's pretty interesting and brings up some pretty interesting thoughts, like the kalam argument.

I'm doing great grin2.gif. Well, school has gotten monstrously busy and my friends are being pretty angsty lately(there's been a lot of hugs and comforting as of late, heh) but it's my birthday and, really, they all rock so it's pretty darned good overall.

Still haven't got a copy hmm.gif . It appears to be a very popular book, plus I've been a tad bit busy. Each time I go to the library I check for it and it still hasn't been there...

And it seems that Angels and Demons is due back at my brother's school's library and he has to write lines if he takes it back llate so I'll have to get it out another time and finish it later :S

Great to hear from you Kis, you've been fairly quiet for a while. I'll PM you instead of being a schmuck and chatting on the forum, heh.

I`ve now moved onto State of fear by Micheal Crichton!
Neo2005
I'am right now reading "How To Survive In The Woods"

It's a really cool book if your into the whole survival think if you are i also recomend checking out the T.V show on OLN(outdoor life network) called survivor man it's a bout a guy and they drop him in the remote wilderness of swap of desert and he has to survive for 7 days alone fimling himself he can either wait for rescue by his crew or find his own way out.

Both the book and T.V show r good

I've just started Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss. It is brilliant. It's bascily a non-fiction book explaining how to properly use punctuation but it is a very entertaining read and Truss has a good sense of humour.

Also, it turns out I'm a bit of a stickler for punctuation. Examples of bad punctuation such as "I'ts a party!" had me gasping...whistling2.gif haha.

It's a really enjoyable read and I'd defiatnely recommend it thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

Now I'm reading In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, for journalism class. Its pretty good so far grin2.gif heh ohhh the gory details tongue.gif
BurnSide
Book Two of Sir David Attenboroughs award winning trilogy 'Life on Earth'.

The first delt entirely with the evolution of life on the planet, starting from the first forms of life to todays and talking about everything we know about all the life past and present, from what the first life ate to what trees do to reproduce to how we can retrace the steps of todays organisms back hundreds of millions of years to the roots.

The second, what i'm reading now, is entitled 'The Living Planet' and deals with all life today on earth in several chapters based on the environments, from the Tundras to Forests to Jungles to Deserts to Deep sea and urban centers.

Marvelous books. thumbsup.gif

you must see the Battle Royal movie. the first one, not the second. the second one sucked disgust.gif anywho, there is so much blood in it! ohhh maannn! wub.gif one of my favorite movies of all time grin2.gif
Shakezulah
theres 2 movies? i thought there was only 1. o well. i plan on seeing the first one, hopefully soon. i enjoy blood and gore very much. if you wanna see a REALLY gory movie tho, then see Flesh for the Beast, which is also a manga, but that is based on the movie, which is a live action movie. i have read a little of the book. its split into separate stories, and its quite weird, but all of the stories are basically about the setting of the movie, except for the first story which is like a promo for the movie. its strange, but very interesting.
Dancing_Dumplings
Yup! but the second one wasnt very good disgust.gif ohhhh I like gore devil.gif I'll check it out thanks grin2.gif
mystic meg

I have just finished Frankenstien, book 1 Prodigal son by Dean Koontz and Kevin.J.anderson. Now I am reading The Sacred Stone by Clive Cussler!
Potholer
I'm reading A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. Really really fascinating read but every-so-often it loses me. I can't remember what a light cone is or a what a naked singularity is and I feel like I should know in order to understand what is beign talked about in it right now....ah well.

Brilliant book, I'm loving it.
gufzoo
Yeah, that book's awesome, Potholer. I want to read that again sometime soon.
sourpatchkid
I saw at the beginning that Naveed was reading "I Am Legend" -fantastic! one of my favorite stories of all time, especially at the end:
*SPOILER* I loved how at the end of the story I felt sorry for the vampires not the human!

For those who like or think they like those kinds of stories I recommend "Childhoods End" by Aurthur C Clarke. Its pretty short, and a little bizarre but good none the less.
The last book I finished was "The Forest House" by Marion Zimmer Bradley. It's the prequel to "The Lady of Avalon" and "The Mists of Avalon", of which I have read neither. Even if you are like me and you haven't read the other stories this is still a good stand-alone story, I even cried a little at the end!
_hAiLO_
Wow, that must be a good book if it makes you cry.

Anyway, i'm reading a short, not to long book named 'Siddartha'. I'm gonna read either 'Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith' or 'The Da Vinci Code' after that.

It is a great book Marion does a wonderful job making you feel connected to the characters.
By the way since I forgot to mention what I am reading now:
BIG FAT NOTHING. I am so sick of reading because I spend a massive amount of my time reading really boring college text books. When I dont have to read for class I like to come to this forum and get a quick read on the world of the wierd but otherwise I'll take up books again when I graduate! grin2.gif
riotboy555
Lately I've been reading The Catcher in the Rye, which is really good so far. I had been wanting to read it for a while, then found out that we were reading it for my english class. Lucky me thumbup.gif
Paranoid Android
These are the books that I have read recently:

A couple of months ago I finished New Spring, from the Wheel of Time series. Starts off slow, but goes hella crazy after the half way mark. Shades of his earliest books coming to the fore - let's hope he continues in this vein for Book 10.

Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Sorry, I know I'm going to stir some pots here, but I didn't like it. Great story. Great plots. Great characters. Mundane writing. I found the language very basic and unengaging.

The Bible

Classic all the way - but I'm biased.
Rating thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Sword of Shannara

Typical fantasy novel - kid from small town saves the world with a magic artefact. Well written though, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. Worthwhile to pass the time with, but not the greatest of all time. First in the Shannara series.
Rating thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Zombie Bums from Uranus

What can I say. All the trappings of an instant hit. Zombies. Bums. Uranus.
Rating thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbsup.gif

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Read all the HP books (again). Try as i might, it's impossible to separate these books. Philosopher's stone and chamber of secrets are more family oriented, Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix are darker, and Prisoner of Azkaban, whether it meant to or not is the missing link that breaks the two styles. Brilliant.

Rating 5/5 - the messageboard won't let me put any more smieys in than I already have, so we'll just have to do the review the old fashioned way. Numbers tell the story just as well
Potholer
Yay! Bringing back the rating system!

I finished The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells. Great classic. Full of human emotion. I loved the ending, it was so perfect.

Anyone here read "Communion?" I'm about to read it again.
__Kratos__
^ No I haven't...

I just started to read "Slaughter House-Five" for class.

Im close to finishing Blood Of The Fold by Terry Goodkind. I think he's actually one of the greater fantasy writers today because over the years and the course of the series, he's added so much depth to all the main characters.

His ideas about how extraterrestrial are 'good' is nuts! I enjoyed reading his books, but, I don't agree with his altruistic view of ETs....
