is there one thing that has inspired you to, be a better berson, do something exciting or change your life!

for me it was the fact that my flat mates cousin had just qualified as a stylist in a top salon, so i thought if he can do it so can i, so i enrolled in college, stuck it out, then opened my own salon!

Well you may or may not know this but i took the plunge and went back to college in September last year and start at University in September this year to train as a Midwife!

After being scared to change my life - my ex partner encouraged me to follow through with the inspiration received during my pregnancy and to do what would make me happy!

So in 3 years time i'll be delivering babies for a living!

And it shows. Aside from the mods...there are only a few people (other than myself) who consistently post in correct English, with few, if any, grammatical errors. You sir, are one of them. thumbsup.gif

Proof-reading is EVERYTHING people! tongue.gif

I'm very humbled, Joc, thank you. grin2.gif thumbup.gif That's such a nice thing to say, and I'm blushing like a stop sign. blush.gif

May I return the compliment, and say you're one of the site's new stars, with a good mix of humour, reasoned argument, and some rather snazzy avatars, too. grin2.gif

I can't say there has been any one thing that has inspired me the most. My first girlfriend whom I dated for three years inspired me in a time when I'd have had none otherwise, but then she died.
I guess, the one thing that has inspired me the mmost is the human spirit. Just looking at the history of humanity and it's individuals. We truly are amazing creatures capable of so much. That is what keeps me going everyday, the human race. I am very proud to be a human being. thumbsup.gif

Firstly, to Strichar, im really sorry about your first girlfriend.

ummm, i must say, the quartet Bond, their cellist Gay-Yee Westerhoff inspired me to learn the cello, which i am now and i love it.

here she is (gay-yee the cellist)

Not to sound self centered, myself. After being involved in a severe accident almost ten years ago, I never fail to be amazed at the human spirit/will power when faced with climbing mountains.

The person that inspired my life the most and has changed it are, My 1st Kung Fu coach, Bruce Lee, Shaolin Monks, The Buddha, and my old friend Steve Trumble.

When I first learned Kung Fu, it opened doors for me, and showed me limitation without limitation, and introduced me to meditation. Bruce Lee and Shaolin monks are some more people that thoughts of them give me energy to complete any task I may face, and really makes me feel good, and cool. The Buddha more than anyone for the most part, has changed my life with his teaching, God I love the guy even though I never met him. Ever since I converted to Buddhism from Catholic, my life has been great. Buddha’s teaching has changed me for the better and made me question things in life instead of living in fear and just accepting things because they just is or someone else say so, so it is. Buddha also inspires me to meditate quite often, and I’ve been meditating for years now and it hasn’t let me down yet. Before becoming a Buddhist and doing kung fu in general, I was always a independent person but since learning and applying the teachings of the Buddha it has increased my independence, and has also taught me that no one else (external) can give you salvation which is internal just by simply believing in them; everyone is responsible for they’re own salvation and the only person who will give you true peace is yourself. Ah and next of course is my old Boxing Friend Steve Trumble, this guy really inspired me to train harder in kung fu, we use to Spar a lot. This guy is so fast, and his muscles just make him look like a bio-engineered perfect specimen, he had a body someone like Bruce Lee.

But to close, these are all the things that have changed my life so far, who knows what’s next……….

God and this fellow. ill tune my viol and make a song of him.

we were in beamont texas for a chicken show. at the motel this fellow said he was bicycling from oppelousas, louisiana to los angelus, california. he was born in los angelus and was going to get there just in time for his 50th birthday. he asked about washing machines, scenic routes, and to my surprise, the chicken show we were going to. he said that he had had chickens on the roof of his apartment building when he was a kid in los angelus and that he wanted to go and photograph some at our show because that was his other hobby besides bicycling.

so we told him to come in tomorrow.

the next day he showed up right as the show was getting ready to end, and took alot of pictures of our chickens, and rode off. i never caught his name, and i probably will never know anything about him. he had everything i wanted. he was religious, he had all sorts of adventures, he had courage, and he did what he wanted to do without thinking about consequences, some thing i have always wanted to do but have never been able to. if only i could be like him. i will never be like him, but i will be able to strive for it. i only wish i could meet him again.

corny, huh?

After going through a phase of depression i dont know where i got the insperation but i made a brave change in my life (with out sounding self admireing).
I was quiet and spent most my time at home or with the same group of friends and wasnt happy with my life at all, and suddenly got the courage to make an interview with the college for a performing arts course as i thought this would help me get my life back on track, i was terrified but i was more terrified of how i would end up if i didnt, so fear of being someone im not deep down made me go for a spontaniouse change.
Now im confident and happy got loads of new mate and would never go back on it! tongue.gif
