Well, I belong to a reality-based community and the recount was stopped by the Supreme Court, and at that time, we were down 150 some odd votes, with three heavily democratic counties left to be counted. So, yeah. The Bushivics stole the first one. The second one? Kerry was just an idiot.

Watch the movie "Recount," then search the information provided in the movie and you'll see it's 100% factual.

The Supreme court simply said you have to go by the Florida Law and that you can't continue on recounting and recounting and recounting until Gore wins.

Not true at all. They stopped the hand recount, which was necessary because the chad (the little pieces of paper next to the candidate name that gets punched out when the individual casts his or her vote) were not all the way punched through on many ballots, so the machine didn't register the vote. The Florida Supreme court wanted them to be hand counted, ordered it, but the U.S. Supreme Court overrode them. So, they were following state law until the 9 Nazi's stepped in.

Bottom line: Katherine Horse Face Harris and her lover, Jeb, Dubya's brother, and the U.S. Supreme Court stole the election from Gore. Period. End of story. Watch the movie, research it, and put down the Kool-aide.

There's nothing to prove. The Supreme Court stopped the hand recount, overriding the Florida Supreme court. Simple as that.

Doesn't it bother you that Gore wanted a limited recount in heavily democratic areas contrary to the laws in the book?

A Statewide recount would have been fine

I agree that a statewide recount would've been the best (particularly since it would've shown a Gore win by 60, 107, 115, or 171 votes depending on which of the four standards was chosen). Indeed, the Florida Supreme Court also agreed with you when it ordered a statewide manual recount. A statewide recount is exactly what the U.S. Supreme Court ruled would be unconstitutional, in one of the silliest, most nakedly partisan decisions ever handed down.

Gore should've demanded a statewide recount, but his request for a manual recount in Volusia, Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties was in no way contrary to Florida election law.

§102.166 4(d) (2000):
d) The manual recount must include at least three precincts and at least 1 percent of the total votes cast for such candidate or issue. In the event there are less than three precincts involved in the election, all precincts shall be counted. The person who requested the recount shall choose three precincts to be recounted, and, if other precincts are recounted, the county canvassing board shall select the additional precincts.

They did a statewide recount. After that, the hand recount was done in counties that were disputed.

Well, if they hadn't stopped the correct recount. We wanted hand recounts from the get-go, but they kept stopping. Finally, it was allowed -- then guess what? It was stopped by a Republican controlled Supreme Court.

Voters have misgivings about Obama, McCain: polls

WASHINGTON (AFP) — US voters have serious misgivings about both US presidential candidates -- Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain -- faulting the former for lack of experience and the latter for close ties with President George W. Bush, according to a new opinion poll.

The survey by USA Today/Gallup showed that Obama was still leading McCain 47 percent to 43 percent among registered voters and 48 percent to 45 percent among likely voters.

Both leads were within the margins of error of plus or minus four percentage points.

The survey came as Democrats prepared to launch their national convention in Denver, Colorado, on Monday.

Half of those surveyed worry Obama "may be too closely aligned with people who hold radical political views," and 57 percent said they were concerned he lacked the experience to be an effective president, USA Today said.

Moreover, 53 percent of the respondents said Obama can handle the responsibilities of commander-in-chief and 44 percent said he cannot.

On the other hand, four in 10 said they are worried McCain, who turns 72 next Friday, is too old for the presidency, and 67 percent said they're concerned he'll pursue policies too similar to Bush's.

According to the poll, the electorate remain fairly fluid. Three out of 10 of those polled said they might change their minds between about voting for either of the candidates between now and November 4.

Meanwhile, a separate survey, conducted by CNN/Opinion Research Corporation found that 47 percent of those questioned were backing Obama with an equal number supporting McCain.

Those poll numbers also showed 27 percent of Hillary Clinton supporters had now switched for McCain.

Oh for Pete's sake... that election was so corrupt it looked like 1930's Chicago. There are good ideas from the right and good ideas from the left, but our system is really, really good and it's currently circling the drain.

Accusation of corruption is normal on a very close election by the losing side, happens all over the world.
But the Democrats supporters and voters mostly are the ones complaining of cheating and foul play when they don't win as if they should always win, election after election.
Makes me wonder.

The key word is "controlled." Do you believe the Supremes are controlled by anyone or any force?

Of course we're aware of their political leanings. That doesn't equate to "control." When the time inevitably arrives and the Supremes have a liberal majority, will they be "controlled" by the Democratic Party? (The answer is no.)

Pity you don't understand that.

You are taking the word "control" and extrapolating that into something entirely different. It's not like I am saying that the Republicans give them their marching orders - that would be idiotic. But the Supreme Court, as a whole, is controlled by the Republicans. It's the same as the Senate and House being controlled by the Democrats, currently. If you'd prefer, to save argument, I'll rephrase: The Supreme Court, currently and during the 2000 elections, is a Republican majority.
