Both pictures show the same object, but from different angels.



Edit: Sorry! A little more info would be helpful, huh? The bottom image is from Sol 65 of Spirit's approach to Bonneville. The one here is from Sol 66 on the rim of the crater "Bonneville". Both pics can be found on the JPL Rover website under the Raw images, front nav cam... Again, sorry.

If you enlarge the images even more, although they get hazy you can see a dark shadow around the light part, suggesting there is more to the object than just a little white spec.

• Realistic opinion: Its a large rock with one reflective surface cathing some light from the sun.
• Conspiracy theorist opinion: It's an object NASA knows about, probably alien spacecraft, that slipped through their screening process and wasn't meant to be released.
• My opinion: I wish the damn resolution was higher, and would a colour camera be too much to ask?

Looks like it is no longer a mystery...
