During the Middle Ages, it was not uncommon for offending animals or insects to be put on Trial before judge and jury. The trial was treated as seriously as if it were a human in the dock! And that animals were morally and legally responsible for their actions.

I have put together some examples in the following link:

I particularly like the rooster laying an egg. The punishment was being burned at the stake. LOLOLOL, I'm sure all those peasents were on it as soon as everyone else disbursed. Mmmmmm, BBQ!

Ignorance and superstituition. The only folks who could, or were allowed to, read and write were the priests and maybe a handful of the upper gentry.

Heck you believed what they told you to believe.

And now, for your enjoyment, the BIG BROTHER moment. wink2.gif brought to you by the Catholic church. innocent.gif

Safe to say Dr. Dolittle would have made a good living appearing in court for the animals xD

I dunno. I suspect Dr. Dolittle would have been tied to the rooster at the stake because he COULD talk to the animals. wink2.gif

In Oklahoma it is against the law:

to walk down a street eating a watermelon (must be some D--- Yankee that came up with that one disgust.gif );

to share a hamburger (no comment wacko.gif );

to tie a horse to a parking meter (whoa fella rolleyes.gif );

to carry a live goldfish on a city bus (I hope they remembered to mention the bowl and water ohmy.gif );

to not drive a car without having someone walk in front with a bell or whistle to warn folks of your approach (obviously they didn't think about traffic jams laugh.gif );

(if a wife is driving) for the husband not to get out at every intersection, and insure it is safe for her to continue (DON"T even think it guys disgust.gif );
