Universal Absurdity
for some reason one night i had the house to myself. i must have been 11 years old or so. i decided to sleep in my parents bed. it was bigger and much more comfy than my bed. as i lay there i heard a noise in the closet. it scared the hell out of me, so much that i stiffened up which caused my eyes to be covered by a shadow from inbetween the windows. i stared intenly at that closet for a good 5 minutes in silence. i heard another noise and saw what (then) i thought to be spider man eyes. i was a fan of spiderman so naturally my eyes got bigger and must have reflected a bit of light. whatever it was saw that i was looking at it and leaped from the closet, over the queen sized bed and out the window. it was about 6 foot tall and all black except for its eyes which seemed to be reflective or silver color. i jumped out of bed to see it running outside and found that the window was only cracked open about 4 inches, and there was absolutely no trace of it anywhere. i have never had another experience like that since.

any thoughts on what it could have been?

I had a very similar experience, I was in bed when I was about 12 or 13 and I was woken up around 1 AM because there was this thumping noise coming from outside my room, I thought it could be my brother because we slept in the same room (bunkbed, I was on top) and he wasnt there, so I hopped out of bed with a thud, and the noise quickly stopped, so whatever was making the noise heard me get out of bed. anyway, I crept to the door and slowly opened it, I had my head against the wall so i could look through the crack in the door down the hallway. as I was opening the door I could see someone standing in the hallway, I opened the door more and it was my brother, so I asked him what he was doing and he didnt awnser me, all the lights were off so it was hard to see but I swear i saw this figure of a small child, like 3or4 feet tall hunched behiend my brother hiding behiend him, peeking around his body at me! i was so freaked out, it had big eyes like you described. I was so scared, almost paralysed and I tried to scream at first but I was so scared nothing came out at first, I managed to close the door, then I gathered my breath and opened the door again to see my brother lying on the floor. I ran across and woke up my parents, of course it was gone and no one believed me. my brother said he didnt know how he got into the hallway. everyone assumed he was sleep walking. I cant deny what I saw, the next week the same thing happened except my sister saw it, I was away at my friends house.

all i can say is; sucks to be my brother.

hey man the odds are its nothin to be worried about i had very similar stuff happened. you see it said you woke up at around 1 or so. Well when you wake up sometimes you may hallucinate because you are still dreaming but you feel awake and can walk, look around, ect. It's also your hormones acting up so dont be scared. Even though thats hard not to be. I woke up once and someone like kicked boxes around my room, opened my closet walked around my room and stuff. i thought it was a ghost...but it was just all in my mind/hallucination. because my mind was in a dream state. no worries thumbsup.gif

So you're saying he got out of bed, walked to the door and saw his brother, who was actually physicaly in the hallway, all while asleep? I'd buy it if he saw the whole thing from his bed, but moving around and experiencing things that are physicaly there is a different story.
Skiwi
No you see, your body is awake and you can perform everyday function...also you THINK your mind is normal, but in reality your mind is still in somesort of dreaming state which causes hallucinations.
