It is actually very possible... considering most of Papua are unexplored jungle. We still have new species of large animals found there once in a while. And scientific expedition is very limited, especialy near the Indonesia - New Guinea border where the guerillas are active.

Err.. I don't think those dragons had reached Papua... AFAIK the creatures had spread to several islands in close proximity to Komodo Island, but Papua is just too far away.

Komodo island is one of the small islands clustered to the NorthWest of Kupang. Papua is on the east end of the map. So it seems easier for the dragon to reach Celebes rather than Papua. But the most natural route of migration is all the way west to Java, Sumatera, and then to the Malay peninsula. <hint> watch your backyard </hint>

| The daring January 10 raid by guerillas of the Free Papua Movement (OPM) has provided fresh evidence that the long struggle of the West Papuan people against Indonesian occupation is far from over- despite repeated claims to the contrary by the Indonesian military machine and its international backers. Seven visitors from Europe and at least 14 Indonesians were seized in the raid on Mapnduma village" Green Left Jan 24 1996. |
