I say this way too much. I wonder if there is a Chuppy topic I've NOT posted this on.

The MQ Chuppy: A mangy dog.

There is absolutely NO correlation between the Texas chupacabras and the original chuppy reported in Puerto Rico. You cannot compare a four-legged creature that immediately resembles a dog to a creature that is described as having clammy white skin, red eyes, spikes, and is a bi-ped. There is just no similarity you can match up here. The MQ episode was unneeded on so many levels.

I was pretty objective while working on the segment. there was no question when i saw the "beast of Cuero" face to face that my curiosity was simulated. There was no doubt in my mind that we might have a hybrid or new breed of k-9 in our hands. But I agree with you as far as its relationship between the texas "Chupacabras" to the original Puerto Rician "Chupacabras".

While in Puerto Rico I met some girls who count seedlings in El Yunque rainforest, and they told me about a strange creature that smelled skunky they glimpsed while they were working. They said it was pale and bipedal, it smelled very similar to our skunks, and when it noticed them it fled in another direction. They seemed scared and one refused to go back to work there. Does not sound like a dog suffering from mange to me....
Cloudshill
It did have a very unusual bite to it.

Do you still have contacts there? I sent them an email last week highlighting rancerho's posts and the excellent theories he proposes to explain the legend. I was wondering what was thought of it or if it might make a good episode.

I got Ken Gerhard the Cryptozoologist contact info and Phylis B. Canion the Cuero ranch owner. At the moment I am developing a concept for my own paranormal show. Send me a note and I will pass you the information.
