It will be interesting to see whether we gain a new planet or instead lose two.

The Solar System has only eight planets. Sedna is not a planet, and neither is Pluto.

sedna has not been classified as a planet or Oort cloud object. although it SEEMS that it will be classified as an Oort cloud object and also proof that the Oort cloud hypothesis is true

Visit www.jpl.nasa.gov. This is the website of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. If you read through the sections about Sedna, you will discover that they do not consider either Sedna or Pluto to be planets.
JPL are responsible for building the vast majority of US space probes to the planets, and they know what they are talking about.
