Does any know of songs created of wolves. I don't mean the pop style stuff... something older... like local folk or something like that... I'd like to see how differently many cultures described them wolves in the old times.
I myself found these:

"Creation of a wolf"

Where was I a wolf called
Into the fen was I pulled
Into the woods was I put
Into the hills was I dragged

The devil it's staff wanted
Needed a wacher in the woods

Where was my sole blown
Whad was put on me
Where was my sole blown
Whad was put into me

Rowan ferule as a tail
Oak branches as feet
Stone to you as a heart
Coal to you as eyes

Who created an evil mind
Who created an angry scruff
Who created firey eyes
Fang lightning strong

Man created an evil mind
Woman an angry scruff
*Töll created firey eyes
*Taara fangs ligthning strong

Hundred fathoms from deathwind
Ten cubit from cemetary moon
Seven forests motherland
Seven forests fatherland

* Töll and Taara are names of Gods
--------------------------------------------------------

"Wolves Rage"

There not far from the forest
There where wolves howl
There are wolves with my soul
There I with my soul

Wolves they my brothers
Wolves they my sisters
From them is my anguish
From them is my rage
From them is my lust for blood
Their hatret flows in me

The forestdevil ate my wife
The forestdevil ate my child
Eye to eye with the forest devil
Have I been always
From it is my anguish
From it is my rage

Darkened have they my day
Brighter have they my night
Wolves gather in the woods
Around the bright full moon

Winds bring the hungry howl
Kniting the lust for blood into me
This anguish was brought from them
This rage was brought from them

I only know of "Werewolves Of London". That's not about wolves though.

"Ow-OOOOOOOOOh! Werewolves of London! Ow-OOOOOOOOOh! OOOh! ..."

Oh, if only there were a separate forum for mythological/Hollywood creatures. Werewolves, vampires, zombies, etc. You know, those creatures without a whit of evidence, just stories. Creatures young folk find irresistible to emulate, to break away from societal restraints. A place they could romp to their heart's delight, claiming extraordinary feats without having to prove a damned thing. Vampires, lycans, and zombies: Unite!

Petition the management here for a place you folks can really howl!

Nightwish has more than a fair few. They sing quite a bit about wolves--and if not directly, than indirectly, and sometimes if the song has nothing to do with a wolf, they will find some way to mention it.

By this meaning, before classical music even...

But thanks anyways...

Though Nightwish is modern, you could almost consider them "folk artists", as some of their songs recount epic tales of heroism and many myths and legends. Most often they sing about Norse mythology, when they do, but anyway. Since the band got a new lead singer, they came out with a new song called 7 Days to the Wolves, which has about a minute in the middle of the song of instrumental fiddles and cellos played like a classic Irish tune (like, not identical, rofl)--it's very folk-like, though, not an old song. Even though it's not a traditional sort of song, I do suggest it, if you're looking for a song about wolves. The band Within Temptation (again, a relatively modern band, not classical) has a song called The Howling that the did for a game trailer (Spellborne)--you can find it on YouTube--that, though not specifically about wolves, is sort of hard to say otherwise. It's a bit high-pitched and upbeat, keyboards, bass, lots of drums, but shouldn't be too awful for what you're looking for.

Figured some links would be helpful:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVYEVYnuuME - 7 Days to the Wolves. Lyrics in the "more info". 3:05 starts the insturmental section you might be interested in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcwO0VS9FVo - The Howling.

No need to watch the videos, just listen, unless you want to.

Thanks for the suggestions and the info... I know both of the songs... really good ones...
My songs that I found are from an Estonian band Metsatöll... They literally take ancient songs and tales in verse, and put them into a mix of metal and folk
