I was at Screenit.com reading about this movie.

This is what I think happened at the end of the film, so if you don't want any spoilers or ideas, don't read on!

It seems EVERYBODY dies in the end because as the credit rolls, we get glimpses of the zombies being shot up or the zombies attacking the survivors...

This is ONE movie I will probably cannot handle. The original Night of the Living Deads gave me nightmares...this one???

Just for note my entire post contains spoilers to various movies.

I hate movies were EVERYONE dies... my one critism of Evangelion the movie was they had no alternative ending were Humans don't go exinct.

Never actually seen any of the movies except for the original and the last hour of the remake.

The original Night of the Living Dead was sooooo depressing as everyone died, at least in the remake one of the people survive.

Still, in the original Night of the Living Dead, everybody dies but humanity still prevails. Dawn of the Dead was had survivors but it borders more on satire.

Day of the Dead also have survivors but in the end there was a REMOTE chance that it could be all a dream....depending on how you interpret it. Perhaps their helicopter ran out of gas and they landed on an island and she dreamt the whole thing, or something like that.

I saw Dawn of the Dead twice now, once opening day and then once yeserday (actually stayed through the credits). Great movie, really freaky and just as good as the original imo. As far as the ending goes, I find it real and then unreal at the same time. Other then that I love this movie, but I still think 28 Days Later is better for the new wave of zombies because it had more character development and didn't base the screen play on past movies and just included tributes. Althought I would say that the new Dawn is a seperate movie from the original, but it's the idea that it did borrow from it. I do look forward to owning the DVD when it comes out though. thumbsup.gif

I thought that Dawn of the Dead was fantastic, i went 2 see it last week and most of the people walked out just as the credits rolled so they never seen the ending, i thought the fact that they all died at the end was fantastic as it made the film altogether more believeable, if the virus was so contagious then why wouldnt it have spread as far afield as that?

With 28 days later, which was also a fab film, the only problem was that the virus never spread past britain and the ending just wasnt right!!!

anyway thats what i thought! thumbsup.gif

The virus thing is only from 28 Days, in Dawn of the Dead (and its ilk), there never was any explanation why it happened.
