I have one. ( my grandad told me this one )
It is said among my people that some things are improved by death.
Tell me, what stinks while living, but in death, smells good?
Is it an animal of some sort? Like, it smells when its alive, but when it dies and you cook it, it smells good?
God Bless.

A man is dead. The elf says the dwarf did it. The dwarf says the catman did it. The catman says the dwarf lies. The orc swears he didn't do it. If only one of them is telling the truth, who killed the man?
Its the orc. He's the only one no one else mentioned yet he denied it. My friend and I thought about it, I think its because its psychology, where no one accused him yet because he knew he was guilty, he quickly jumped to lie about it.
Just some thoughts.

How do they know it's a fake?

2. If you lie to me, I shall slay you with my sword. If you tell me the truth, I shall slay you with a spell.

3. A man is dead. The elf says the dwarf did it. The dwarf says the catman did it. The catman says the dwarf lies. The orc swears he didn't do it. If only one of them is telling the truth, who killed the man?
My dad's told me the first two before when I was a youth

2-kill me by sword.
the third your guess is as good as mine, but I'll say orc.

ok, two really easy ones, just to let people relax from the brutal mental workout they have recieved.
Johnny's mother had three children. The first child was named April. The second child was named May. What was the third child's name?
What English word can have 4 of its 5 letters removed and still retain it's original pronunciation?

1) Johnny. Funny that the first time I heard it I said September for some reason.
The second one is shifty. Its a vague question. Does it mean that it can retain its pronunciation AFTER the letters are removed. If not, then any five letter word can have four letters removed and still retain its pronunciation.
...Im confused.

long story short, my dad told me both of those, as perfect riddles. in all actuality, I think they're bogus, as I had no idea what the second one was either, so, I was going to get to deleting the post as soon as he told me it was aitch, (which I don't think is a word) which he assured me as soon as you remove the aitc, it's still pronounced 'aitch.' don't blame me, just blame blind trust in a parental figure. though I have to ask....september?

2. I have a mouth but never speak, i have a bed but never sleep. i often run but never walk, i often murmur, never talk. what am i?
3. A tractor trailer truck gets jammed halfway under a bridge who's elevation is 1" lower than the elevation of the truck. How do you get it out?
4. I can float in myself, sit on myself, and run on myself. What am I?

Number 3. Either I didn't get out, it was the driver who was stuck. Or 'twas the truck that was stuck, not the driver so the driver just got out?

Your answer to #2 is correct.
There's no trick in semantics or wording on riddle #3, so think about it again.

he speaks of "but that man's father is my father's son". which makes it that it is the mans son in the portrait.
