I have one. ( my grandad told me this one )

It is said among my people that some things are improved by death.
Tell me, what stinks while living, but in death, smells good?

Is it an animal of some sort? Like, it smells when its alive, but when it dies and you cook it, it smells good?

God Bless.

A man is dead. The elf says the dwarf did it. The dwarf says the catman did it. The catman says the dwarf lies. The orc swears he didn't do it. If only one of them is telling the truth, who killed the man?

Its the orc. He's the only one no one else mentioned yet he denied it. My friend and I thought about it, I think its because its psychology, where no one accused him yet because he knew he was guilty, he quickly jumped to lie about it.

Just some thoughts.

I have a coin with the inscription '2 B.C.' on it. I try to sell it to a museum. They refuse it.

How do they know it's a fake?

Maybe they didnt know what year it was, as we know what year it was. Like, would they even call their own year 2 B.C?
Megalomania

I know!!! Jesus was born in 3 B.C right? And the coin is in 2 BC. If Jesus wasnt born yet, they wouldnt know who he was, therefore B.C (before Christ) wouldnt even exist yet.

Megalomania
Yep, B.C. doesn't exist wink2.gif

1. A metal neither black nor red
As heavy as a man's golden greed
What you do to stay ahead
With friend or arrow or steed

2. If you lie to me, I shall slay you with my sword. If you tell me the truth, I shall slay you with a spell.
(Hint: Its one of the following: "Spell", "Sword", or "Don't kill me" w00t.gif )

3. A man is dead. The elf says the dwarf did it. The dwarf says the catman did it. The catman says the dwarf lies. The orc swears he didn't do it. If only one of them is telling the truth, who killed the man?

My dad's told me the first two before when I was a youth
1 lead
2-kill me by sword.
the third your guess is as good as mine, but I'll say orc.
Glacies
ok, two really easy ones, just to let people relax from the brutal mental workout they have recieved.

Johnny's mother had three children. The first child was named April. The second child was named May. What was the third child's name?

What English word can have 4 of its 5 letters removed and still retain it's original pronunciation?
1667832
1) Johnny. Funny that the first time I heard it I said September for some reason.

The second one is shifty. Its a vague question. Does it mean that it can retain its pronunciation AFTER the letters are removed. If not, then any five letter word can have four letters removed and still retain its pronunciation.
...Im confused. tongue.gif

long story short, my dad told me both of those, as perfect riddles. in all actuality, I think they're bogus, as I had no idea what the second one was either, so, I was going to get to deleting the post as soon as he told me it was aitch, (which I don't think is a word) which he assured me as soon as you remove the aitc, it's still pronounced 'aitch.' don't blame me, just blame blind trust in a parental figure. though I have to ask....september?
mr. E
1. What gets bigger the more you take away from it?

2. I have a mouth but never speak, i have a bed but never sleep. i often run but never walk, i often murmur, never talk. what am i?

3. A tractor trailer truck gets jammed halfway under a bridge who's elevation is 1" lower than the elevation of the truck. How do you get it out?

4. I can float in myself, sit on myself, and run on myself. What am I?

P.S., Sorry if some of these were reposts, but i didn't have the chance to read through all 45 pages
Potholer
Number 2 is a river

Number 3. Either I didn't get out, it was the driver who was stuck. Or 'twas the truck that was stuck, not the driver so the driver just got out?
mr. E
Your answer to #2 is correct.

There's no trick in semantics or wording on riddle #3, so think about it again.

Any guesses for my #1 and #4?

I made up #4 myself, and i'm kind of proud.
Potholer
Is #4 water? It's a good riddle, darn right you should be proud grin2.gif

#3 - drive the tractor off?

Haha, I don't know. Can't work out #1 though at the moment. Might try again later.

Bigfoot_Is_Real
Number 1 answer is a hole the more you take away from it the bigger it gets

number 4 water? hmm.gif
mr. E
Good job Bigfoot_is_Real, #1 is a hole. you get a firm pat on the back original.gif

As I said, #2 is a river, good job.

#4 is water, good job Potholer and Bigfoot_is_Real! I'm pretty proud of that riddle. you can use it any time you want.

Think about #3. if no one gets it soon, i'll tell you all the answer. it'll be one of those where you're like "OH! i should have known that!" haha
Bigfoot_Is_Real
YAY i got it right w00t.gif

could you be a little more specific on #3

I've got a good one for you.

A man is looking at a portrait. ‘Whose picture is that?’ someone asks, and the man replies: ‘Brothers and sisters have I none, but that man's father is my father's son.’ At whose picture is the man looking?
Chokmah
its the mans son?

The portrait is of the mans son.

he speaks of "but that man's father is my father's son". which makes it that it is the mans son in the portrait.

A man was found dead in a meadow with a gun. Before he died, the man had fired a single shot. How did he die?

Clues:
The bullet didn't ricochet off of anything.
The man knew he was going to die after he fired the bullet.
The man didn't know he was going to die before he fired the bullet.
The man wasn't killed by a human.
Weird_Al_Wonnabe
was he going to kill himself with the gun, but it didn't fire so he jumped off a cliff, and the gun fired as it hit the floor?

sorry, its complicated

Nope.

The answer isn't complicated at all. Requires a bit of thinking though.
Bigfoot_Is_Real
it backfired

he had a heart attack

he was attacked by an animal and he shot the animal which is why he is misssing a shot
colorless
Nothing attacked him. Nothing that was living killed him. The bullet didn't kill him.

And there is an answer to this riddle, in case you're wondering. tongue.gif
Bigfoot_Is_Real
Heart attack, stroke, seizure , a rock he tripped after he fired

You're getting closer.

A doctor and a bus driver are both in love with the same woman, an attractive girl named Sarah. The bus driver had to go on a long bustrip that would last a week. Before he left, he gave Sarah seven apples. Why?

one for each day to keep the doctor away

" an apple a day keeps the doctor away "
Nadal
Pah! That was a priceless riddle and you got it...pah hom'bog
Bigfoot_Is_Real
Eh i figuered it out after i saw a week and seven and apples
colorless
He wasn't allergic to anything, and he didn't die of natural causes.
Bigfoot_Is_Real
he tripped on a rock
colorless
His death was accidental, but he didn't trip on anything. Think about the bullet he fired.
Bigfoot_Is_Real
Ahhh the shell hit his face and he died from seizure
colorless
No, he didn't die from a seizure/heart attack etc. The shell has nothing to do with how he died.
Nadal
He dropped the gun, it went off and it shot him in the face?
Glacies
I agree with nadal, not too much else is coming to mind right now...
