It seems to me now at days that almost every single major news network receives news from Reuters. Msnbc, CNN, even Yahoo News and many more all get their news from Reuters. Now why is this so? Is it easier just to get headlines from another reporting organization? Better for ratings when stories from news networks coincide? Perhaps not. I think that Reuters might possibly be behind a plan to feed the world the news stories that they want us to hear, either to keep things from the general public all over the world, or get what they want.
On their
webpage it states that:
| QUOTE |
| Reuters media delivers text, news photography, graphics and video, to print and broadcast media, websites and wireless services on six continents. |
Now if a news corperation has that much coverage worldwide, and that much spread, how can they not have power over what we see, hear, and learn about what is happening in the world? I take this as a sign that they are up to something, or the news companies of the world are just plane lazy.
Very interesting...i wouldnt be suprised if this was true..cause that is quite a great power they harness if it is true...they control in what we hear, see and cause of that even think...people depend on the media to much these days...who can we believe these days...the world is just one giant stress ball
p.s my first post..hehehe

Yeah, also they've been around since about 1851 from what I read on their site. Makes you wonder how long the conspiracy would be going on...

Reauters is a news agancy that employs thousands of freelance journalists around the worl.
Reuters only corrolates the storys verifys and passes them on.
I dont think theres much conspiracy in that.
They just have more journalists in more locations than any other News channel who cannot employ the same amount of journalists.

To the Americans out there; I would be more worried about the crap you are fed on Fox News than Reuters.
We get it over here on Sky and I drop in from time to time for a laugh.
The other day, for example, one of the presenters responded to a query from a Canadian, who was complaining about not being able to get FOX News in Canada. The response was that it was because Canada is a socialist country and they don't value freedom of speach.
Incredible but true.

Yeah fox is the most hilariously biased news channel i have ever watched, though one thing I will say about them is that at least they dont try to hide it lol.
They called for a boycott on all things French last year lol.
Hows that for an objective newscaster eh? lol.

i have convinced myself that all news media is filtered through the cia.
whatever news that has made it to the general public is government authorized. the reason for this is to keep the american public in fear. fear = need for sense of security, what better sense of security than going out and buying things you really dont need. and for most, that fear leads to over consuming. Food for example - no other place in the world has as many obece ppl as the US.
so you have a bunch of fat ppl, scared, and buying sh*t they dont need. while crime rates drop and media coverage of crime rises.
and this is just news from in the us. when it comes to overseas news, i am sure that we get only what they want us to think in order to sway popular opinion in favor of those in power.
its not reuters, its who reports it to you , the general public.

Actually I believe that all news media, Fox news, CNN or whatever are biased, whether it's a right wing or left wing bias. I don't think there is a single news company in the world that is not biased.

I think you are right to an extent Naveed.
However, we in the UK certainly don't have news programmes that actually make political comments in the same way as, for instance, FOX (we leave that to our newspapers).

You guys are claiming Fox is biased? HAHAHAHA...yes, this is true...but its only to combat the far left bias of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and CBS...Fox News is the only TELEVISION station that gives remotely (sometimes they're off the mark as well) a different perspective...listen to the others, they all say the same thing.....maybe that's why you like them
As far as Reuters...i dont doubt it. They have the capabilities...they are possibly censoring all the press we receive...but as far as i've read, a lot of their articles are either obviously biased (to show one point of a political argument or another) or very unbiased...so i think they are just trying to get the news out there...but it is very possible

LOL.....

nice quip....but no....i heard it on the radio one day, possibly misguided like i wrote in the other thread....i simply may have just been ignorant enough at the time, and nobody has educated me since...so if you've got the sources for the information you project, then by all means...my beliefs will be changed.
FOX news, like many people in this thread have said...is simply the other side of the story...whether you choose to believe it or not, you should still watch it to get the full picture. I tune into CNN and MSNBC quite regularly...i just prefer FOX because i agree more with their opinions (like i said though, sometimes FOX even strays to the left)...they were much more conservative when they first began broadcasting.
