I believe that this should have been posted in the extraterrestrial board.

Could you imagine 200 years ago if someone had told you that someday you could travel to California from Boston in 5 hours - or be in Japan in 12 hours. The concepts of automobiles, radio, TV, telephone, phonograph and everything else we take for granted even the most astute science fiction writer would never have conceived of. HG Wells wrote about electricity in every home but that manuscript was rejected as being to far-fetched! Monetheless, our scientists reject the notion of a civilization being advanced enough to travel the stars. This galaxy is 14 billion years old. There are over 100 billion stars. Humans arrived only in the last 100,000 years on this planet. To me, it is ridiculous to assume that we are NOT being visited!

*chernobyl
there were rumors that a ufo drew enough power out of the plant to stop the meltdown and eventual explosion of that nuclear power plant. (the meltdown was planned , it just got out of hand)
i have also read in quite a few books about ufo's causing blackouts, and just drawing power from powerplants in general. very strange.

If you wat to be technical about it (annoyingly so) one could say that we are seeing UFOs everyday. They might be a kite, or a bird, or a plane. None-the-less they are unidentified flying objects. Hahahaha

Thanks UniversalAbsurdity.
Another version of the rumor says a UFO sent a laser-like ray to stop the reaction.
