Intel has chosen UK bank holiday Easter Monday to release its "Bulverde" PXA270 and 2700G "Marathon" accelerators aimed at personal digital assistants (PDAs) and mobile phones.
It is using the Intel Developer Forum in Taipei, Taiwan, to showcase the chips.
The Bulverde chips reach clock speeds of 624MHz, but Intel will also sell them at speeds of 520MHz, 416MHz and 312MHz.
These chips, as we said last week, will also include Speedstep technology to give additional benefits in power consumption.
On the other hand, its 2700G graphics accelerator chip is intended for video playback and will support various MPEG formats.
Intel has had a somewhat chequered career selling these kinds of chips - design wins are a little few and far between. It hopes that these new products will help give its profile in the mobile and PDA markets a booster.
Ron Smith, who ran the ill-fated wireless division of Intel, showed off the technology at last September's IDF.
