The world's largest cruise liner, Queen Mary 2 - hit by tragedy even before its launch - is having problems once again.

She arrived back at her home port 210 minutes late after bow doors covering propellers failed to shut in Portugal.

The £650m QM2 set sail from Southampton on its maiden voyage in January after being officially launched by the Queen in a blaze of fireworks and music.

The launch came after 12 people died when a gangway collapsed while the ship was in dry dock at St Nazaire, France.

Most of the victims, including at least two children, were dockyard workers' relatives visiting the ship for the first time.

During sea trials, two women aged in their 60s had to be removed from the QM2 by the coastguard after breaking their legs.
