Full Version: Oregon state government...

Ok, recently we voted here in Oregon on a measure (measure 30 for Oregonians) to raise taxes. The government threatened that if the measure did not pass they would have to cut funding to many programs, lay off police, etc..., etc... Well the measure did not pass, and no programs or jobs were cut, but suddenly they find 102 million dollars that was somehow "lost" hmmm...where did this money come from and how did they loose it?

Also this is not the first time we had to vote on this bill. Back in 2002 or 2003 we had to vote on it the first time, and it did not pass. Well the state implemented the measure anyways and then the highly democratic(liberal lead) government suddenly gave all Republican members pay raises (payoffs? wink2.gif ) . After some complaining from enraged voters and thousands of signatures they finally allowed us to vote on it again, hence the one I mentioned at the very top of this thread.

Oh and if thats not all, back when they originally implemented it like I mentioned in the second paragraph, they also mysteriously found lost money. So is it just me or does something smell fishy? I mean finding lost money twice, implementing measures that were voted down, and even possibly paying off an opposing party; if that isn't corruption and a possible conspiracy, I don't know what is. whistling2.gif

P.S. I'm not gonna mention all the bs I had to go through with my taxes, after which I'm still convinced someone was messing with them, especially since I was employed for the state working for my local school district during the summer.
