user posted imageNearly six decades ago, a 21-year-old Navy fighter pilot on a mission over the Pacific was shot down by Japanese artillery. His name might have been forgotten, were it not for 6-year-old James Leininger. Quite a few people — including those who knew the fighter pilot — think James is the pilot, reincarnated. James' parents, Andrea and Bruce, a highly educated, modern couple, say they are "probably the people least likely to have a scenario like this pop up in their lives." But over time, they have become convinced their little son has had a former life. From an early age, James would play with nothing else but planes, his parents say. But when he was 2, they said the planes their son loved began to give him regular nightmares. "I'd wake him up and he'd be screaming," Andrea told ABCNEWS' Chris Cuomo. She said when she asked her son what he was dreaming about, he would say, "Airplane crash on fire, little man can't get out." Andrea says her mom was the first to suggest James was remembering a past life.

At first, Andrea says she was doubtful. James was only watching kids' shows, his parents say, and they weren't watching World War II documentaries or conversing about military history. But as time went by, Andrea began to wonder what to believe. In one video of James at age 3, he goes over a plane as if he's doing a preflight check. Another time, Andrea said, she bought him a toy plane, and pointed out what appeared to be a bomb on its underside. She says James corrected her, and told her it was a drop tank. "I'd never heard of a drop tank," she said. "I didn't know what a drop tank was."

This was aired on PrimeTime on Television.

A very fascinating story. Now who says reincarnation isn't possible?

It also shows how skeptics quickly deny a claim without further investigation. No wonder they never find any paranormal activities. Tell me how the name of the aircraft carrier and the name of someone he flew with can be a self deception ... disgust.gif

I saw a similar story with a guy who was scared of water his whole life and around his early 30's it was really bad, nothing would help. so in a last ditch effort he went to a hypnotist and he underwent a past life regression session. during this session it was uncovered that he was reincarnated from a US navy sailor who was abord a submarine when it sank. he recalled specific details about the mans life that wouldve been impossible to make up with such accuracy. he recalled names, ranks, dates, and much more specific details from the mans life that were all later confirmed to be true.

I saw it on an episode of the old unsolved mysteries. its pretty weird stuff

I believe it happens. I believe that I am reincarnated myself from who Im not sure, but I believe they were a scientist of some sort...just from my ambitions in life.

I saw it too, I couldn't believe it after so much proof.

this article from ABC news is eerie. Not sure if I've posted in the right area - feel free to move the post if it fits better elsewhere.

Something similar happened to me when I was a teenager and started having very vivid dreams on a trip to the UK.

Hard to say. There wasn't exactly a whole lot of information offered. The closest to an investigation was the university professor, and he didn't seem to confident of the phenomena.

I have found the human mind to be extremely easily fooled, both by others and by itself, and it is fairly well known how easy it is to implant false thoughts in young children. I would have no problem whatsoever believing this was just another one of those cases of self-deception.

I think it is proof. The kid was only 2 yrs. old. How can you sit down and make up an elaborate scheme to fool people with a 2 yr. old?...I think the father put this out to the person that thought the parent helped the child make up stories.

Your trip to the UK could bring up memories and feelings. My trip to Ireland brought out a great deal of emotion for me that I couldn't explain. My family is mostly Irish, but I wasn't expecting the feelings I got when I stepped on Irish soil.

I think it is proof... if everything the parents said was truthful. I'm inclined to believe it was.

I have a problem with this in that it sounds very, very similar to a case in England where the previous life was as a Luftwaffe pilot who died in WW2. That one was quite seriously researched and included in NDE researcher Peter Fenwicks book on reincarnation (can't remember the name). Apart from the different nationality and theatre of conflict it seems almost identical, if I remember correctly.

I believe if there's anything to discover about reincarnation it will emerge from investigating these so called spontaneous recollections rather than from regression. I'm not 100% convinced of it but it's intriguing and not easily explained.

This is very interesting evidence , It would be fantastic to be able to watch that video .

He said James told him he had been shot down at Iwo Jima. James had also begun signing his crayon drawings "James 3." Bruce soon learned that the only pilot from the squadron killed at Iwo Jima was James M. Huston Jr.

This however isn't really proof , how old was the boy when he started, writting his name with crayons . Both my boys were roughly 3 . Wouldn't it be more likley he was writting his age next to his name . A very comon next step for children looking for a mental challenge .

Another plane could have been shot down as well maybe that day, maybe at a different time, maybe in some other sub-tropical area.

I really think this story is true, there is absolutely no way he could have thought up the story. I actually did watch this on Prime Time a few days ago and was amazed. Only two...here is a quote "I bought my son an airplane because I know how much he likes them. 'Hey look, there is a bomb on the bottom of the plane!' 'No, that is a drop tank'"
Don't you find that rather creepy? Most two year olds can't even comprehend specs of a WWII airplane, let alone single handedly go into detail even WITH a parents help!

Maybe all of us here have or had distinct memories of happenings that could have been a past life, some people might be afraid to share, or some people might think it is lame. If anyone does, I encourage you to share because I myself am sure as hell interested to hear. thumbsup.gif

Have all of you seen this thread yet, on the wonderful reincarnation forum of Carol and Steve Bowman?

More and more western cases of the reincarnation type are being discovered.

Best wishes,
